With far too many chin strokers and music elitists around, we need people like Kristy Harper who choose to bring a sense of fun and sparkle to their musical pursuits instead. 

An advocate for female empowerment and body positivity, she translates these messages into both her productions and DJ sets. So far her releases have come via Let’s Play House and Monologues Records, followed by her acclaimed ‘My Body, My Future’ track, which samples Samirah Raheem’s viral interview at the LA ‘Slut Walk’. 

As a DJ, both behind the decks or on the Netil Radio airwaves where she holds a residency, she’s guided by a pure and unadulterated love of disco, Italo and classic house; sonics that filter into much of her musical output.

That goes for today’s mix too, which revs through a cocktail of synth-driven rhythms and bright acid-laced cuts, and follows Kristy’s fuego remix for our latest R$N Records release from Bawrut and Chico Blanco, which you should listen to stat!

Tech Support stands amongst some of the most prolific young DJs and producers out there. Yet despite a vigorous work ethic he still maintains a sense of playfulness in his work, demonstrated by his tongue-in-cheek approach to the DJ lifestyle. We chatted with him over on Instagram about small communities, production tips and musical influences. 

Combining lashings of house euphoria, mind-melting chug, dirty basement disco, obscure italo and more, Tech Support is primed and ready to send you offworld to a strange yet familiar place of feel good.

Tech Support always finds a groove in everything he touches. Be that through his DJ sets, mixes or his own productions, there's a rhythmic fluidity and depth that always guides his way.

He never confines himself to one sound or style but there's a distinct nod to the 80s in his influences and output; be assured you'll find lashings of Italo, vintage darkwave, euphoric house and slo mo chug when he's behind the decks or laying it down in the studio.

His work rate as a producer has been on the up over the last few years. If he's not sharing his solo work, which has formed releases for Nocturne, Together Alone, Futureboogie, Silver Bear and, most recently Ano Ano, he's crafting his own self-released edits and reworks of legendary new beat, new wave and Italo Disco tracks like 'Burning Down The House', 'Je Suit Passee' and 'Drop The Deal'. Lately he's been making music under another alias, Asa Tate, with a track penned for this year's Rhythm Section SHOUTS compilation.

The next release of remixes for Moderna's debut album, "The Future Is Among
Us," is set to drop on October 17th via Brave New Rave.

The new EP dives into three standout tracks from the album, "The Future Is
Among Us," "DIE4U," and "Pappenheimer," and enlists a heavyweight cast of
collaborators to give them a new life.

The record opens with two very different, but equally powerful, remixes of the
title track. French duo Kimshies delivers a dark, club-ready slow-burner, while
Karassimeon cranks up the energy with an indie-dance, Italo bumper.

Next, "DIE4U" gets a thrilling new perspective from Slow Motion Record's
founder Franz Scala and synth-wave doll Neu-Romancer. Both artists inject
their signature styles, transforming the original with their unique, unmistakable
flair.

Closing out the EP is Almost Falling, the new project from German producers
Esther Silex and Kotelett, who give us their downbeat version of
“Pappenheimer”.

This remix EP is more than just a collection of new versions—it's a bold
expansion of Moderna's original vision, further cementing "The Future Is Among
Us" as a quintessential electronic album.

The Rapture Pt.III [Remix] (Don't give up)

Loser Records starting into the new year with the 8th edition of our Loser Podcast series, inviting our good friends and well-known Berlin DJ duo Peak & Swift.

Peak's origins are unknown, though it has been said he may have been raised deep in the Brokeback Mountains of East-Saxonia, but this is all mere speculation. Maturing (or not) in the club/rave scene and quickly picking up the art of DJing at the tender age of fifteen, he has made a name for himself in this urban jungle we call Berlin. 

The Swift was brought up by a less than normal band of carnies in southern Germany and spent much of his childhood in such far off places as Istanbul and Kolkata. Swift was first spotted in the Berlin area around the year 2000,  when he teamed up with his partner in crime, Peak.
 
They quickly melted their musical interests of house, disco and deep and dubby techno into a powerhouse sound that's main mission was banish the cold, dark, "minimal" sounds of that era in Berlin and warm the city up to the current sound that has taken over now. The duo was seen ducking in and out of the shadows of Berlin's most infamous clubs, before they finally found they're home in the mysterious, Salon - Zur wilden Renate. 

Today, Peak now helms the responsibilities of head booker while The Swift takes care of the one-of-a-kind flyer art and bookings of his own while simultaneously banging out hot tracks every weekend as residents. Together they have helped Renate grow from a club in it's infancy to the world-renowned underground mecca it has become today, boasting incredible house, techno and disco lineups on a weekly basis, not to mention a series of open air events and many wild themed parties throughout the year. 

For those of you who don't know Peak and Swift yet, it might be best for you to hop a plane to Berlin and catch them in their element in Zur wilden Renate, you will surely not be disappointed. Also, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for releases from the label they recently formed, Renate Schallplatten!

For Loser Records, Peak & Swift put together this uplifiting, high energy mix, making the start into 2020 as pleasent as it could be.

For almost two decades DJ, promoter, producer and vocalist Michelle Manetti has been an active and respected voice in East London's queer scene, pushing for representation for marginalised artists through her regular parties and her now defunct Lipstick Disco blog.

A mainstay at Dalston Superstore, her Fèmmme Fraîche parties - launched in 2015 alongside Sandra Le - have become a bi-monthly fixture, and have helped to spotlight emerging female, female-identifying and non-binary DJs, as well as hosting bigger names like Honey Dijon, Rroxymore and Nightwave.

Sonically driven by jackin' house beats, trippy acid, dynamic techno and more recently proto, Italo and breaks, her sets are as electic as they are energetic. True to form, she brings that relentless energy on her 'Ransom Note' mix, which is a ride through raunchy Italo, driving synths and hypnotic acid...

Italian duo and biggest disco queens of the XXI Century Hard Ton land on Freeride Millenium with a superb new single backed with big remixes from Soulphiction, HiFi Sean, Super Drama and Box Office Poison and provocative artwork from Daniel Rajcsanyi.
Hard Ton are all about Sylvester-styled falsettos vocals, hi-nrg beats and screaming acid bass lines made on analogue synths and vintage drum machines which lends their sound a rugged and authentic edge. They are firm favourites in the disco world with releases on Rekids, Toy Tonics and Opilec Music that light up global dance floors and charts alike. Here they link with Berlin based American musician, singer and songwriter Snax to great effect.
The fantastic ‘Make Up’ is a cover of the 1982 gem from Prince protege’s Vanity 6, here it is offered up as a warm and steamy cut with vast rubbery kicks and big drum fills. Soaring synths rise up through the always dramatic track to keep lifting the energy levels and spoken words and yelps, chunky synth vamps and rattling hits all make for a brilliantly dynamic trip.
Philpot founder Soulphiction is a long time underground stalwart who flips the track into a deeper and more intense affair stripped of some of the drama and instead focusses on vast, funky guitar riffs that get you loosening your bones.

Bristol based DJ, club promoter and producer, 
Chez de Milo, readies his debut release, and Futureboogie’s first release of 2021, with the ‘Bushwa’ EP.  Smagghe & Cross (AKA Ivan Smagghe and Rupert Cross) join the party with an epic Version of the title track.

On ‘Bushwa’, warming CR-78 drums initiate a bubbling blend of groaning pads, melodic keys and gated vocals as Chez de Milo crafts a solemn yet addictive 5am moment.  Smagghe & Cross stretch things out over ten minutes with their tantalising Version of ‘Bushwa’ that quite literally features a commercial break midway before motoring back up to chugging speed.  Cosmically charged this most definitely is!

Elsewhere on this prolific debut release, ‘Mantella’ features a smorgasbord of spacey riffs, splashy drums and idiosyncratic vocals, whilst ‘Golden Ratio’ wraps things up with an esoteric piece of bleepy, ambient house that is designed to feed your mind as much as for your feet.
