These hand made beats were made whilst AUDIO Farm resident, Cy Humphreys watched as his local football club come into the ownership of Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.
2020 was a big year for projects. 
For Cy, it was a deep dive into the archives of dance music, sourcing the original hip hop, funk breaks and fills for project he’d always wanted to do.
A new, original rave fuelled pr, citing the likes of Orbital, Nookie, The House Crew and KiNK as influences for this unique live electronic project of raw, undiluted jams recorded live from hardware to tape in one shot and no edits. 
An experienced producer in his own right, Cy’s Urban Shakedown sampling ‘Stuttacato’ appeared on Needwant Records alongside huge names like Bicep and Dusky.

"There's no real hard and fast theme to this mix, I think Pulling Strings has got such an obvious nod to what it should sound like - emotive heart string tuggers. I think when I first started putting mixes together for this concept, not so long ago, I stressed out about sticking two hours of pure tear jerkers together. Quickly realised I didn't have enough of it that would fit together in a cohesive way and it also sounded completely shit. But then as the concept of it all slowly starts to come together I've realised it's not actually about sticking continuous cry your eyes out bangers together, it's all about building around them that make them so special when they eventually get brought to the forefront of a mix, if that makes sense. 

Tracklisting is built up of a few new bits I've recently stumbled upon that I feel like nod to the sound of Pulling Strings, toward the back end there are some absolute classics that have had my heart for years that I've not had an opportunity to include in a mix before. There are also two tracks off of the forthcoming release, PS002 - from Biodive and Johnny Flowers, two artists I really respect - and you'll see why when you hear them."
