Advice to beginning dj’s? 

I’m a new dj too! First off, if you’re just starting to play out, definitely go early and check everything out and make sure you know where everything is and feel comfortable. Otherwise, I would say don’t try to play what’s trendy or what you think other people will like. Just play what you like even if it’s cheesy or seemingly wack. Trust yourself! And if you fuck up who cares, just keep going. Don’t compare yourself to friends/acquaintances/famous people who have been doing it for 10+ years.

I would like to see more of the DJs I love in the community making tracks! It’s hard to get into, and expensive, but I would love to see that happen. It would be great to see some sort of platform to educate/learn from one another in this area.

fk so you might not have realised this but over the past year i have been doing an experiment to find how many ways there are to fail at recording my sets. i can list them:
 - forget to bring your recorder
 - bring cables for wrong mixer
 - recorder runs out of battery and forgot the charger
 - recorder runs out of battery and you forgot an EU adapter for the charger
 - use microphone cables which engage the phantom power on the recorder and distort whole recording
 - ran out of space on SD card
 - forget to press record
 - forget to switch to line in and accidentally record set through microphones

pretty sure that is everything, but yeah now i have concluded this experiment i can actually record things and then u can listen - will be great
