"What better way to heat things up for the return of club season than the first official single of 2022 and the first official Dubstep single for the label. Sketchi makes an appearance on 1Forty for the first time in three years after two successive BSS appearances (1FBSS003/1FBSS004) see’s him return to channel his earlier 140 influences with a record ready to make shockwaves across the dubstep scene.

"1Forty has featured a selection of artists on the Label from its home in Leeds and Sketchi is part of those very grassroots. Starting off his journey learning to mix and produce at the age of 14, growing up in the same area of Leeds a musical relationship was born with Mikey B thanks to their shared love for UK Bass music.

"Taking inspiration from the early era of Grime and Dubstep along with the artists he follows across the bass music spectrum that have such a strong focus on low end sound design such as My Nu Leng, Taiki Nulight, S.P.Y, Dimension, Joker and Enigma Dubz (the latter two being no surprise here) he serves up ‘Osami’ to announce his return."

@1fortyproject welcomes @dominusofficialuk to the label, with another veteran MC - @rikodan. A record fit for the deepest darkest corners of the UKG rave scene which is the epitome of the sound coming out of the clubs right now. Born in London and raised in Jersey, Dominus is currently the name on the lips of the underground. With a passion for instruments from a young age, and electronic music as a teen, he began his production journey at 16. He has experimented with various electronic genres over the years to thank for the many influences in his eclectic sound that he’s carved out for himself as a now established name in the UK bass music space.

"1FGRM009 (Grime) sees its darkest entry in the series to date. Newly unearthed gem of the Nottingham Grime scene, Avaword lands a starting birth with an ill-tempered vocal reminiscent of the early 00’s over a Drill influenced Grime instrumental from fellow Nottingham producer Frost, even sampling ‘Oi’ for a nod to the original sound on ‘7am’. Raybee and Rakjay link up for a heavyweight Dubstep roller on ‘Where The Bar Is’. Leeds’ very own Buckley see’s his first official release with the label after appearances at the club nights this past season, as does Untrodden Grove, delivering two more thumping low end Dubstep contributions with ‘B.D.B’ and ‘Abbies Nightmare’ respectively."

Signed to MB Artists, the versatile 22 year old has been driven by a love for DnB since being a teenager. When first getting into production over 2 years ago the South London born music enthusiast delved into the modern UK Bass scene as well as taking inspiration from experimental producers such as Boddika & Objekt thus leaving him with a genre-infused melting pot of original sounds in his tracks.

Whilst spending time developing his diverse sound his releases have lead to bookings at major London venues such as Fabric & XOYO as well as futher afield at Rainbow Venues (Birmingham) & The Arch (Brighton) supporting the likes of Modestep, Kenny Ken, Cause & Affect and Skepsis.

At the end of 2017 he was called upon by Marcus Nasty to join him as a guest on Rinse FM and since then has recently gathered the support of new residents on the station, My Nu Leng. With releases already on Crucast, 1Forty & RDWRK (Rossi & Luca’s newly acclaimed Label) and more on the way 2018 is shaping up to be a stand out year.
