Logan is the first of two artists on this release making his second successive Genre Release in a row with himself and Hamdi both making the jump from the latest Funky & Garage Release (1FFNG004, back into their more native 140 realms. ‘Evil Side’ sees Logan team up with 9TRANE for a hard hitting dubstep anthem, following on from one of the UKG hits of the year in ‘Worthwhile’ alongside Murder He Wrote at the end of last year, which smashed its way into Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday’ editorial playlist on release day as well as Rinse FM’s A-List Playlist over the Christmas period, and receiving a whole host of support across the BBC from Toddla T, Mary Anne Hobbs, Jamz Supernova and more.

2019 really saw Logan come into his own as both an artist and an MC, being picked up for LOTM8 by Jammer paired with a string of high profile releases making him without doubt one of the most versatile names of the next generation. With releases across MoreTime Records, with Kouslin on Durkle Disco and Idris Elba’s ‘Yardie Mixtape’ respectively says all you need to know. There are also honourable mentions for tracks ‘Like Me’ with Treble Clef and ‘Ready Fi Di War’ with Trends both of which gained significant traction across the BBC, Rinse & Reprezent also. Making himself a Grime Originals mainstay and being one of the most active names at Outlook Festival shelling down boat parties and stages alike throughout the week further aided his rise. Then of course Logan rounded off a stellar year with his debut 1Forty release ‘Worthwhile’.

On the buttons is 1Forty’s Grime stalwart 9TRANE, having been part of the Label since Day 1 when he laid down a statement of intent with lead track ‘Compute Riddim’ Ft Killa P & Badness on the debut release when the Label arm was formed - 1FGRM001. ‘Evil Side’ feels like a follow up with the clever use of atmospheric space and hard hitting subs paired with Logan’s ragga type vocal paving the way for a track ready for the darkest of clubs.

Other releases on the Label also show 9TRANE’s unique trademark sound yet versatile approach including ‘Assault’ on 1FGRM002, and ‘Appletize’ which made ripples throughout the scene. Toddla T latched onto the Norwich talent through these releases and has since gained regular support on his show on BBC Radio 1. 1Forty’s flagship producer also tinkered with some UK Funky collabing with Arridim now also known as Criticals' Particle for ‘Plazma’ and the follow up ‘Plazma VIP’ both still receiving regular plays some 18 months later.

In the concrete jungle Brisbane, Reegze is known for his adaptiveness when it comes to niche genres of underground music including Dubstep, Halftime & Jungle/Dnb.

First influenced in 2015 by underground music festivals such as Tropical Bloom, Mushroom Valley and Happy Daze Reegze has found himself behind the decks at handful of Festivals/Raves such as Earth Frequency, Archaic Gathering, Spring Campout, Swampy Conscience & Renegade Playground.

As he followed the DNB to BNE in 2019 he has consistently developed a wide range of experience from DJing across South East Queensland and supporting the likes of S.P.Y, General Levy, DJ Hybrid, Whiney, Mrs Magoo, P Money, Unglued, The Upbeats, Delta Heavy, and Zombie Cats just to name his favorites.

Fast forward to now Reegze is continuing to find ways to improve and diversify his tune selections alongside sharing his addiction to bass music.
