On the 21st October 2016 1Forty launches at one of the biggest nightclub brands in the country.. Mint, Leeds. With a Funktion-One Soundsystem installed and a state of the art low LED roof there couldn't be a more fitting venue to capture an atmosphere that will live long in the memory.

To kick things off 1Forty has curated a very special line up with some of the biggest names in Garage, Grime and Bassline.. And following Palize's opening mix for our 'Promo' series we start our 'Archive' series off with J69. The 'Archive' series will showcase music from the early years and/or exclusive (Dubplate) material from Garage, Grime & Bassline.

J69 has been producing for 9 years now. Some of his earliest productions were played out on Kiss by the UKG legend himself DJ EZ. Since then he has progressively honed his own sound and stamped his authority on the new era of bassline. With releases on In:Flux Audio, Project Allout, 3000 Bass, Deeprot and more were very pleased to have the Sheffield producer and Bassline Festival regular as a resident.

With 2 weeks to go we have the Co-Founder of Rinse FM, member of the legendary Pay As U Go Cartel, owner of the foundational Slimzos Recordings and the commonly referred to Godfather of Grime coming with the next installment of the #Archive series following on from J69. 

The 'Archive' series showcases music from the early years and/or exclusive dubplate material from Garage, Grime & Bassline. Some of these dubs in this mix that Slimzee has offered up for us will never see the light of day. This mix is also featured by Ticket Arena as their 'Mix of The Week' (20/04/17).

Originating from Birmingham he put himself on the map in the late 2000s producing 4x4. Since then he's risen through the ranks to become 1 of the best producers in the game on both the National & International stage in Grime music. Producing the likes of '3 Wheel Up's (Kano & Giggs), 'Man Don't Care' (JME) & 'Cold' from Stormzys award winning album 'Gang Signs & Prayer'. Not to mention his incredible back catalogue of other productions and grime instrumentals. Renound for bringing a mix of grime and his 4x4 roots on his live sets this mix is just a taste of whats to come next week..

Filthy Gears has been working away in the background putting out instrumentals on his Bandcamp since 2015. The last 12 months has seen his talent picked up on by a whole host of names, 1 of those being, you got it.. P Money. The OGz MC signed up Filthy Gears for an 18 track album to make him the 1st artist to release on his Label bringing through the likes of Wiley, Jammz, Capo Lee, YGG, Manga, Discarda and more for features. Since then he was 1 of the first guests to appear on Sir Spyros newly acclaimed 1Xtra residency.

He's stepped up to bring us the 4th part of the #Archive Mix Series to promote the next 1Forty Release. Producing both of the vocals on 1FGRM002 for Maxsta & Killa P.
