The first release of 2024 sees the return of Sketchi, 18 months after he brought the first official Dubstep single for the label ‘Osami’. He kicks off 1Forty’s year with a high octane Dubstep/Grime hybrid take of Flowdans infamous ‘Shell A Verse’ acapella that the ex Roll Deep member made available on Bandcamp in 2018, and has since seen new heights hit with Sammy Virji’s UKG Remix in 2023.

1Forty has featured a selection of artists on the Label from its home in Leeds and Sketchi is part of those very grassroots. Starting off his journey learning to mix and produce at the age of 14, growing up in the same area of Leeds a musical relationship was born with Mikey B thanks to their shared love for UK Bass music.

Taking inspiration from the early era of Grime and Dubstep along with the artists he follows across the bass music spectrum that have such a strong focus on low end sound design such as My Nu Leng, Taiki Nulight, S.P.Y, Dimension, Joker and Enigma Dubz, it is yet again on show here.

Raybee made his second appearance on the label with his debut single '1undred' in February 2024. It was a huge hit with the likes of Sicaria ringing it out for months in her sets at the likes of Coachella.

The skippy drum work makes this VIP a more than worthy addition to celebrate 7 years of the label.
