Ataman - Cosmic Mimic

Entropy is a reflection on and reaction to recent West coast wildfires.  It was recorded quickly in Fall 2018, shortly after two massive wildfires burned in California.  It’s often dissonant and intense, and ranges from rhythmic soundscapes to harmonic imbalances to drone and occasional abrasiveness. 

Best listened to at volume.

Most of the material was recorded using a Modular synth and MaxMsp.  The Mysteron module is all over this.

Created in Oakland by Patrick Coleman. Additional mixing/mastering in Anaheim and Universal City. Focus group testing by Mark Hazen and Meara Coleman.

1 note Drone made with Neutron Sound Dust of Time stereo oscillator in to Typhoon, no effects apart from the reverb on typhoon. Typhoon is modulated with one of the aux outs on Dust of Time, set to a chaos attractor. Osc1 is "harmonic" and osc 2 is "FM"
