OUTRUN014 comes from Parisian-based bassist and producer Westbrook. If you’re familiar with Olivier Azémar’s modern funk alias, your ears may have been blessed by his 7-inch release on the pioneering Omega Supreme Records. Or maybe you’ve heard his collaborative, funk-influenced house and footwork project, Cee-O-Funk. Either way, you’re in for a treat. Previously a digital only release, Desire features his hallmark rubbery bass lines and slick grooves, distilling some of the most beloved funk stylings from past decades into a song that fits like a (white leather) glove into any funk-forward mix. Laced with Mae Rojas’ fiery pop vocals, you can’t miss.

For the entirety of their existence, First Touch have been at the forefront of modern funk music. The Germany-based group was a major component in the first wave of boogie revivalism which began in the 2000's. Their eponymous debut album would become legendary among synth funk aficionados who were seeking to hear new artists working with 1980's-era blueprints of analog keyboards & heavy hand claps. First Touch has remained active ever since, with releases on many of the prime modern funk labels in the game. Now they can add Sleepers to that list with a 7" which includes two new songs. "Changes" is classic First Touch - Drum tracks that could've been lifted from any song in regular rotation at Paradise Garage, rubbery synth bass lines and leads, and unlike many of their fellow modern funksters, a willingness to place non-synth instruments prominently into their production via warm piano chords & horn stabs. "Chron" falls more into electro territory, and as such adds new dimensions to the First Touch sound.

As always, Sleepers brings you these two tracks in physical form via limited edition color vinyl 7" - only 150 copies pressed!

New Walls is a new meta-musical journey by Polyfunktional, he produced, recordered and mixed the whole album during his recent move to Naples.
Although a transfer is a demanding experience, especially for a musician, he got his stuff together and attempted to setup a new temporary studio from scratch,
trying to take advantage of those new routes, new landscapes and new vibes felt living in a new city, even behind "new walls" the attitude is the same,
music brings us all home... This time, as usual, Polyfunktional refine his blending of Funk, Soul, Jazz and Hip Hop in 8 songs, from some gangsta-funk beats for the poplockers,
to several romantic neo-soul ballads or uptempo grooves, all embellished by his renowned talkbox and vocoder vocal inserts.
New Walls is a tribute to the music, the funk, love, people and everything that changes to remain the same, everywhere in the world, All Funkateers United !
