Nintendo Channel - First Start

The third week of Advent is characterized by the oncoming joy of Christ’s arrival. It’s a break in the solemn tone, where we fill our hearts with the joy of the shepherds’ (this week’s candle on the Advent wreath is known as the “shepherd’s candle”) upon hearing the announcement of Christ’s birth. In fact, the greeting “…“Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.” [Luke‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬] is likely where this association originated.
I wanted to create a piece of music evocative of this joy, which isn’t an emotional joy—one that depends on momentary elation. But a deep, everlasting joy of the greatest love given to the human heart: Emmanuel. 
The third Sunday of Advent is known as Gaudete, which in Latin means “rejoice.”
It is symbolized by the only pink candle on the Advent wreath, to show this week is for rejoicing—for embracing the joy of our Savior, and heading down the home stretch of anticipatory celebration at Christmas.
May every heart rejoice in the glory of Christ, our Lord.

The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were struck with great fear. The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
