45+ year veteran Dj Representing DC/MD/VA scene... Hailing from Chicago (Chi-Town), 1SmoothDj Marv come from a strong lineage of Chicago DJ/Disco legends. At a very early age he was responsible for providing daily music for his classmates as early as 3rd grade!!! While other kids were outside playing he was listening to relative’s record collections of 45's, LP's & 78's. Chicago Radio was also huge influence from childhood into early adulthood, which eventually led to clubbing at some of Chicago's most famous underground parties. It was a given that Marv would become well known for his intense and passionate deck skills as he started landing dj gigs at house parties, block parties, sock hops, bowling alley, neighborhood bar/spaces & eventually clubs. [Fast Forward]

 Now located in the DC Metro Area, Marv was co-founder and resident dj of now defunct music entertainment group The Liberal Party. With these weekly parties [CHOICE @ Fab Lounge & Level X] respectfully. Marv and his four other colleagues changed the musical approach on how DMV house community consume and appreciate music with our various styles and approach to soulful music. Along with our weekly UK internet mixshow 'Where’s The Culture', they were well established with contributions to House Music.

 These CHOICE parties saw the likes of top notch talent locally, nationally and abroad i.e. Glenn Underground, ChosenFew DJ Wayne Williams, Teddy Douglas, Vicky Ryan, Tamera Wellons, Adam Rios, Biskit, Geoffrey C, Soul Theory, DaveK Poppa, Jamie 326, & LiL Ray, just to name a few who graced our decks.

1SmoothDj Marv has played alongside some of House Music well known Dj/producers and respected legends like... Ron Hardy(R.I.P.), LiL Louis, Farley JackMaster Funk, Frankie Knuckles(R.I.P.), Steve “Silk” Hurley, Tony Humphries, Dj Mandrill, Teddy Douglas, Dj Spen, Glenn Underground, Doug Smith (95 North), Mark Grant, Lady D, Karizma, Sam Burns(R.I.P.), Deep Dish, Doc Martin, Dj Cameron tha DJ, Ernest Fountain, Laurent Minassian, Master Kev, Curtis Lee, Andrew Hogans, Dj Pope/Oji, Taha & Dj Baby, to name but a few! 1999 -2001... He was one of the 1st of DC Dj's to host a Internet Mix Show before it became what it is today! His show "Club w/o Walls" was a big hit on the now defunct site Capitol Vibes. Marv has since re-upped his 'Club w/o Walls LIVE' brand since 2020 on Twitch during the COVID-19 pandemic. This show is going fairly strong and gaining industry notice.
