Long, long ago... Two races ruled the earth.

HUMANS and MONSTERS.
They lived together in an unstable peace, yet a peace nonetheless.
Until one rainy day...
An unknown disaster struck the earth, destroying their crops, livestock, and taking the lives of millions.

Recognizing their power of magic, The HUMANS blamed the MONSTERS for this tragedy, and in retaliation, started a war against them.
The HUMANS had won the war, and sealed the MONSTERS underground, never to be seen again.

The darkness feels insurmountable. They are blinded, strangled, and want nothing more than to see just a glimmer of hope...

They do not see it in the distance.
They do not see it in the present.
They do not see it in themselves...

But they see it in each other.

They say eyes are windows into the soul. The funny thing about eyes is that you never see your own. Maybe in a mirror, but that's only a refraction on the surface of glass. The physical world is only populated other peoples' eyes. The joys, sorrows, pains, pleasures, fears, beliefs, and wonderful and terrible experiences of every living person can be expressed in the simple, opulent surfaces of their eyes.

It sometimes proves immeasurably difficult to find hope in yourself; a reason to persist, a motivation to continue your struggle. All alone, this can become impossible, and you feel no choice but to sink into eternal despair. You may even justify it to yourself. You think you are powerless, unworthy to go on, and that the world and people in it would be better for being rid of you. But then you look into the eyes of just one person...
