"Danzarín" by Julián Plaza is undoubtly part of the unspoken "canon" of sacred pieces of the tango world. Here we listen Juan María Solare's version for solo piano.

Every composer has a signature piece, not necessarily his best, which defines his style, his intimacy. Danzarín (Little Dancer) is thus a concentration of Julián Plaza's artistic personality. The first theme, a rhythm injection, builds on a pianistic device called "campanitas" or little bells: rhythmed dissonances in the high register.
