"My friend Cody (B Ware) used to send me folders full of beats from new producers every week. I didn’t care for most of them, but whenever I found one I liked, it was always a Dahi beat. This one was actually dropped in a folder accidentally. It had already been released on an early tape of his, but when I heard it I had to flip it. It didn’t belong on my EPs, but I still love the song.”

I wrote this song with Imad Royal and Dave Lubben. My life and relationship were a mess at the time, so it’s sort of surreal looking back to the day we wrote it, not knowing at that time whether my wife and I would make it. It’s scary when you’ve exhausted all conversation, and I feel like a lot of those frustrations ended up in the song. There’s also a few lines in the first verse from Dave, already speaking from a place of my wife and I making it through, which is really beautiful to look back on now.
