Numbers Vol.17, a special summer edition marking a standout moment in the labels ongoing journey through cutting-edge minimal and deep-tech sounds is here. Doubling the energy, unlike the usual 4-5 track format, Volume 17 delivers a powerful 9 track collection carefully curated by the label head u z z v, to showcase a broad yet cohesive spectrum of todays underground movement. The release includes works from Pako Ramirez, Eddie Cortès, Vazdra, Daniella Font, Davide Marsala, Nando X, Macassi, Wotz, Fred Dekker and J.Wheel. Each bringing their own vision and unique sound palette to the series. The Numbers Series is built around a simple but powerful idea: strip back the noise and let the music speak for itself. Each track is titled only with a number, in this case from 0075 to 0083, emphasizing the sound over names, egos or expectations. This minimal approach reflects the labels ethos: focus on quality, consistency and timeless groove. Expect crisp grooves, hypnotic textures, and floor-focused energy throughout, a perfect soundtrack for long summer nights and deeper moments alike.

When he sent me a VIP remix he had made of my track 1992 I thought his ideas for the remix were great so I gave him the original parts so he could finish the mix in the way it deserved. His latest EP titled “Toxo” which means arc in Greek brilliantly showcases some of the best chapters of his musical memoirs. Delivering three finely crafted tracks he takes us on an exploration of sound moving between the realms of house and techno with ease. The tracks bring a special feeling that will cause a commotion in the club with dancing bodies and captivating energy. The full package shows his range as an artist with a special remix from the newest members of the mobilee crew Customer. The Customer project is the latest collaboration between old childhood friends Alan Fitzpatrick & Reset Robot. For AND.ID they deliver an energetic tech house re-work that signals their arrival on Anja Schneider’s revered label, ahead of their debut EP in May.

‘Bang The Box (Slam remix)’ retains the all-conquering vocal of the original, but plunges the track down into propulsive depths with more aggressive percussion and atmospheric synth stabs. 

Richie Hawtin provided the following comment on the remix: “Released in the early 90s, the original Jack Master EP was a pseudo-name that I used to record fun classic Chicago inspired tracks that were made for my DJ sets.  Slam’s new updated take on the original, uses the original voice sample (that’s actually mine) and reworks the track into a full throttle stomping jack track perfect for todays dance floors!”

Well, 2016 was a bit of a mixed bag wasn't it? It's certainly a year that I wont forget in a hurry - for all sorts of reasons - good and bad. However the one common denominator throughout pretty much all of it has been music. Whether its what you turn too to make you happy or whether its the cause of what occasionally makes you sad, there is no denying that music is the one thing that brings us all together to share what is best about being a human. So here's to sharing and caring. We can all do more of both in 2017 but I want to sign off for the holidays by saying a MASSIVE THANK YOU to you all for caring about my music. As for the sharing, I'll start us off with this... ;)
