This soundscape is part of the sound installation 'ROLY' which in itself is part of the exhibition 'Sonic Imaginations', a collaborative project by Aarhus University's Sounding City Summer School 2023, Struer – City of Sound, Bang & Olufsen, Sound Art Lab, Struer Museum, Nordic Podcast Academy, and Uddannelsesinitiativet Struer. Thls exhibition and its sound installations will be available to the public from August 18th until August 27th!

ABOUT 'ROLY'

'ROLY' is a concept as much as it is a physical installation; it operates with an individualistic approach and seeks to place the listener – that is you – in a mindfulness-like state with the core intention of expanding your auditory senses and thus guide you slowly and gently along the path to a "sonic awareness" anew. 'ROLY' thus seeks to assist you in disclosing the hidden sounds of Vralden with an enhanced focus on the sound of silence and the main goal of giving you the ability to activate this state of mind at any given time.
Take a seat on the 'ROLY' bench, the physical manifestation of the 'ROLY' concept; scan the QR code, and let us take you by the hand so that you can immerse yourself in the sonically disclosed everyday life of Vralden.

The 'ROLY' sound installation was created by university students Agnes Ang, Joachim Holmgaard, Nadia Agermose Hinrichsen, Johanne Dammeyer, and Valdemar Højelsen.

OM 'ROLY'

'ROLY' er lige så meget et koncept, som det er en fysisk installation; det hviler på en individualistisk tilgang og søger at placere lytteren – dig – i en mindfulness-lignende tilstand med den intention at udvide auditive sanser og guide langsomt og blidt ad stien til en "sonisk opvågnen" på ny. 'ROLY's hovedmål er altså at hjælpe dig med at afsløre skjulte lyde omkring Vralden med et øget fokus på lyden af stilhed med det håb at give dig muligheden for at aktivere denne sindstilstand til enhver tid.
