From the depths of the apartment, swirling, downed, fussy drums are heard. An arabesque of loud vocal samples playfully jumps over the hummocks of a funky beat, making its way through a string of distorted, sometimes convulsive rhythm.
Someone is rushing around the room, putting on shiny leggings in front of the mirror and setting off the eyelids with the color of Jacko's last breath, and someone, blurring in a euphoric smile, can't get up from the chair an hour before the party.
The sounds of vicious, garage pleasure can continuously replace each other in different guises: charismatic bass incarnation, the dominance of sharp and lumpy dubstep bottoms, ripe synthesizer loops, irrational 2-step patterns and even compliant jungle drops with ragga tunes.
Each element is equivalent, so anything can get into your head. This music, which has rightfully become an integral part of British culture, grew up together with its listeners, who did not have time to blink an eye, as they got families, replacing bright parties with lamp gatherings at the home sound system.
This is not about deconstructing the style, but about its modern reincarnation and an attempt to add more soul to the second various within the framework of the Spezial Series from GLBDOM.

Two and a half years after the inception of Shall Not Fade’s bass-focused sub-label, and a year since its last edition, Time Is Now is proud to present Allstars Vol.3.

For most, the artists featured on the compilation need little introduction. This will almost certainly be true for the Leicester duo who kick off proceedings with a fresh garage cut. ‘Pick Me Up’ is Y U QT’s second contribution to the Time Is Now catalogue and sees them rep the Midlands sound with their take on UKG, complete with a 4x4 speed garage switch-up, sure to energise any dancefloor. Next up, proving that all good things come in twos, is Manchester duo Cortese who first blessed the label with the warmth of their tuneful concoctions in June last year. This time around is no different: ‘Regatta’ is a real summertime banger, with sunny piano stabs and arpeggiating synths that drift above. Keeping things soulful is Dublin producer PROZAK who hots things up with the buoyant 4x4 garage track ‘Next To You’ - his third release on TIN.

Yosh sees in the compilation’s B-side with ‘To Me’ - a track that captures the London badman’s ability to keep you on your toes with stuttering breaks that catch you off-guard. Next up, and repping Copenhagen for the third time on the label, is Main Phase with the aptly-named ‘Pull Up Tool’- a thumping 4x4 UKG track which gives a healthy dose of ruffage before Groovy D closes proceedings with speed garage banger ‘Wun4Me’. Set closer business.

Raised down under and now based between London and LA, AK Sports’ productions, DJ sets and Balamii shows are a melting pot of rave flavours, equally inspired by the old school as the new.

This makes for a truly unique, easily identifiable sound that combines computer-love, retro acid synths (‘Robots Are Forever’) and anthemic piano stabs (‘Sayulita’) with futuristic, cosmic soundscapes; and industrial techno, with MPC claps and reverberating breaks (‘Kurrupt’, ‘Xoxo’). For his second official release, brazilian dj/producer ROOMPUNX brings a banging jazz infused lo-fi house track with a punchy beat and lots of soul, creating a nostalgic atmosphere by the use of looping samples and hypnotizing vocals. The side-b G STABS MIX by NAICHE is all about a deeper vibe with beautiful OG sounding stabs guiding the knocking beat throughout the song.
