I re-recorded the first hour of my set for those of you not able to attend Jamz Camp which took place in Orlando July 2021 @ The Top Secret Resort. I have not been playing breaks sets in over a year, so this was me flying by the seat of my pants and just having fun. There are some old favorite tunes and newbies on here as well. This recording fortunately does not capture the magical power outage and random hair metal music that took place during my set. ;-)Thank you to Jimmy Jamz and the rest of his team for having me. When he began djing he was heavily influenced by DJs and artists such as Sasha, John Digweed, Quivver, Hybrid, Jackal & Hyde and Dynamix II leading to his unique tastes in music and style of mixing. Break Beat is his heart and soul but on occasion, you can hear him throwing down some of darkest of house and trance. One thing is guaranteed, any time he throws down it's going to make you move.

ret·ro·spect -- a survey or review of a past course of events or period of time.

Enter the timeless machine we call Retrospect, where rave and club music reigns supreme. Only the finest mixes are chosen for this series so you are assured an immersive time traveling experience into the heart and soul of the artist with every mix archived.

This series came to me during a very challenging time, recovering from a brain injury. I suffered unbearable pain, lost my taste, sense of smell, and lost 40% of my hearing, which as a DJ was terrifying. I had a lot of issues with memory and always very confused. Typing and texting remained intact which made it easier to not worry a lot of people while I recovered. Music also remained intact, it is bizarre, to say the least, that I have difficulties with basic household activity like eating, bathing, etc. Yet I can somehow type this description, create a mix series, and put a heartfelt mix together to kick it off 30 days after my injury, yes at the time of this writing I am still recovering, (8/12/2018) 10:37 pm.

While I was laid up all I did was listen to music, but the soulful music of the 90s was most pleasing to my hurting brain. I believe it healed me, it certainly cultivated a new perspective on life and in music. The First mix 001 was what carried me through the emotional pain one endures through a traumatic event...as a very open window to my heart and soul, it felt wrong not to share this with others that may heal, enjoy, or experience the music for their first time.
