I love these subtle understated drums... how did you get them so soft and velvety. Filtering? Layering?

I started writing this track 5 years ago. I overheard some AM radio static that sounded interesting and recorded samples on my Edirol R-09. I love splicing & glitching, so I dropped the samples into Ableton Live and started working. This is what emerged. The whole track is a progressive build of completely organic textures and original sounds.

I never really did much with this song because I didn't like it, yet when people heard my portfolio they said this track stuck out.

Fragmentation will be released on iTunes in late Feb/early March as part of "Movements of the Heart" - a full length record of my cinematic music.
