Can there be anything,
More precious than eyes and hearts?

-Hands!
Indeed,
more precious than eyes and hearts:
hands!

Of all the seen and unseen gems,
Incarnate in body and soul,
The most precious, no doubt,
Are hands.

All the gains of life are seized by hand!
Everything in this world,
Everything on this Earth,
Is ruled under someone's hand!
Have you heard of such a reign?!
Hands are ruling the World!

Noble are the hands!
If only for what they're tasked to do
My most beloved deed in life; Writing!

In the deepest of plights,

At Radio Galère, we contributed to the second edition of 24hrs/Palestine, initiated by radioalhara.net by organising a special Palestine program on our airwaves. This took place on April 6, 2024 in our studios. The show was orchestrated by the "1 Hour in Palestine" program members, who invited a wide range of individuals mobilised in support of Palestine.

The Lebanon segment begins with a reading of texts by Palestinian writers in Gaza. It continues with various Lebanese, Palestinian and Syrian activists in Lebanon talking about local and regional anti-colonial strategies and their practices of political and cultural resistance. The discussion focuses notably on the history and present-day usage of boycott as a strategy.
The emission also features the testimony of a Syrian refugee currently based in Lebanon; she discusses the challenges of organizing for Palestine in the context of the Syrian revolution (of which she was a participant) as well as in Lebanon as a member of the refugee community.
The segment ends with a traditional Palestinian song, often performed collectively, sung by the Palestinian singer Salwa Jaradat.

This podcast is based on the recording of two plays: “Taha” by writer-performer Amer Hlehel and “In The Shadow of the Martyr” written by Francois Abu Salem and performed by Waseem Khair.
Ibrahim Owais performs a live sound design impro assembling both plays as part of the 24hrs/Palestine program on Radio AlHara and Radio Flouka.

We are here with José, a dockworker, trade unionist and militant of CALP, Collettivo Autonomo dei Lavoratori Portuali di Genova. This collective, founded in 2011, is involved in countering the trafficking of arms passing through the Genoa port, while simultaneously trying to build a network of international solidarity among dock workers in Europe and beyond. In this talk, the comrade discusses the history of the collective, the anti-imperialist and anti-militarist struggles of the dock workers, the role of the port of genoa in the transport of weapons and also Italy as a country producing weapons directed to fuel colonial and imperialist wars in the southern Mediterranean. Since October 7, they have been actively engaged in responding to the Palestinian people's call for help with the blockade of ships. He speaks to us on current and urgent anti-militarist and anti-fascist perspectives.
