Letter To An Angel (prod. by I AM K-BEATZ)

My name is Kitso Galehose, stage name: 24th GEE. I am a 21-year-old up and coming Rapper & Songwriter from a town called VRYBURG in the North West(currently residing in JHB).

Quick history lesson: 

I fell in love with music back in 2007, but by then I was a dancer and not a Rapper. I used look up to Chris Brown. He was my favourite artist and I wanted to be just like him.

In 2008 I stopped dancing and decided to start rapping. One of the guys from my neighborhood introduced me to a local group that recorded their own songs and I recorded my very first song with 2 members of that group. The song was titled "Baby". We used one of R. Kelly's instrumentals, but unfortunately the song was never released to the public.

Ever since that day, I never recorded another song. I was busy perfecting my craft/trying to improve my writing skills until 2011. My mom bought me an HP Laptop and I downloaded Audacity and started messing around with it; I recorded my second song with it. The song got me a bit of attention from my classmates back in high school and got me a reaction I never expected. The year went on and I recorded a few other songs which I also never released to the public.

In 2013, I recorded a song with an American Rapper, Songwriter and Producer called Deonte Laws(stage name: Scrilliam) from CHICAGO, IL. After that, I realized that I wasn't doing anything major with my career, so I started looking for music producers that wouldn't mind helping me with my music career. I got rejected by all the producers I approached. At that point I thought that maybe I wasn't good enough and that maybe I should quit. But a lot of people told me not to give up because even though I thought I'm not good enough, they loved my music and so will others. So I kept on making music. The years went on and I recorded a few other songs.

Early 2014 I released my first Mixtape. The tape didn't really do so well because all the songs on it were already released as singles. That taught me something ....... NEVER RELEASE ALL OF YOUR SONGS BEFORE YOUR MIXTAPE COMES OUT.

Time went on and I still went on looking for producers to help me. I met a local producer and artist called SuperPrudcer Rapz. He saw me performing at the SHINE BRIGHT LIKE A STAR talent show in a community hall back in my hometown and thought that maybe he should help me with my recording. SuperProducer is now working with some major people in the South African Hip-Hop industry (like FIFI COOPER).

Late 2014 I met another Hip-Hop & RnB producer who thought of helping me out with my music career. His name is Caleb Alleyne(aka CXLEB) and he is from TORONTO, CANADA. Caleb believed in me and he produced a few instrumentals for me.

Late 2015(around December), I bought the December-January issue of HYPE Magazine. As I was scanning through the pages I turned to a page with a list of up-and-coming artists(called Newcomer's Delight in the magazine) and I saw a picture of myself. I couldn't believe that I was nominated by HYPE Magazine as an upcoming artist. My mom was really proud of me. But I still had to do one thing ....... get people to vote for me so I can get a full-spread page/interview with the magazine. Luckily people did vote for me, and I won. That was one dream I can cross off of my Lifetime Bucket List. And I also appeared on my hometowns local newspaper early 2016.

I am currently doing my last year at the ACADEMY OF SOUND ENGINEERING in Johannesburg.
