Soundclocks Megamix Remastered

First in the new series of remixes and refixes. Starting off with 4 tracks taken from the recent Ghetto Dubz Vol 1 album. 

Kicking off with Brian Brainstorm's NUH MATTA with Dubtime on the remix. Staying very true to the original this funked up roller is teeming with old skool vibes.  With its obligatory hoover sounds along with the street tuff vox this tune encapsulates an authentic jungle sound and is a credit to the original mix. Then on to Kumarachi and his killer track BLACKOUT. The original was a dancefloor bomb which didn’t really need improvement but Sound Shifter has added his own unique blend of spicy flavours and made it even more of a killer. An eerie intro leads us into a feast of chopped up drumz and rude boy bass sounds which are enough to wake the dead, while the underlying riff allows a dark skank out vibe to permeate through the track. Secure Unit's LIONHEART BIZZNESS has been given a brain scrambling remix by X-E-Dos which adds his own edgy, dark and techy trademark style to Secure Units innovative and experimental madness. Look out for his 6 track EP coming very soon. Then the icing on the cake is Sections reworking of Sympton's STAY TOUGH. The original was a brutal assault on the senses and this is no different in that respect. The beats are a bit more lively making it a straight up hard-stepper which grabs a hold of you by the throat and shakes the hell out of you, serving up a gutsy dark b-line which you cant ignore.

Kumarachi & Veak - Nebula

Phase 2 comes to the Innerground fold in outstanding form with three tracks that could arguably have been designed from the ground up for the label.

"Stranger Things" kicks things off with a tight stepper of a beat accentuated by some lovely work on the keys. The track bears the marks of the title with some ethereal backdrops and harmonies before launching back into the full body roll of the main break.

"Come On Then" is next with a similarly eerie feeling to the soundscape but a more stripped back, minimal approach. Building to mini crescendos throughout and layering the elements gives the track a new lease of life every 16 bars and identifies Phase 2's ability to create dynamic and accessible audio.

And finally, we have "Go Pro" - a favourite of DJ Marky's for a while now and captures many different elements of the DnB spectrum. A highly intricate break coupled with some liquid rhodes-style keys and some low-end wobble means there is a little something for everyone to groove to on this track.

Hot from previous Serial Killaz success with his New Skool projects alongside Mark XTC, Exile comes with a solo EP, bringing along a ton of hot vocalists from the drum and bass scene in the process. ‘Let The Games Begin’ includes Spyda, Eksman and Dread MC proving that if Exile wants to bring the heat, he’s going to do it at melting point.

The title track sets the pace from the off with a ruff and ready lead snare that splashes through the track maintaining it’s hard nosed approach. Combine that with a tuff ol’ bassline and it’s round one... fighting time or as Exile likes to put it “Let The Games Begin”.

The midas touch of drum and bass AKA MC Spyda drops his liquid gold vocals all over ‘Salvation’. This one follows suit to everything he’s put his talents to recently, adding a certain touch of Serial Killaz spice to the mixing pot. Put simply, this one rolling! 

Gloucester’s very own Dread MC hits the light switch with ‘Eliminate’, taking on the guise of a cyborg which is nothing but fitting to Exile’s dark and mysterious low end. Stick on a haze machine, lay low and activate your guard. Original junglist Eksman squeezes in more Serial Killaz ethos into ‘Blue Print Stamp’ which will no doubt be one of the upfront anthems for 2020 with it’s crushing breakbeats and lyrical warfare from one the scenes veterans.

Licking off the end of the EP, Exile slaps in ‘Religion of Funk’. A dub that’s keen kicking about on the live stream scene for a little while now and certainly rings familiar. It’s mid 90’s influence is certainly clear from the drop and will no doubt be a lead into the next big release from one of the UKs most promising producers.
