Not an awful lot is known about newcomer Disco Feelings but he’s one to watch this guy. Already he’s had super slick EP’s out for Spa In Disco and Hot Digits label honcho Fingerman was so impressed with is lush dj-friendly subtle disco reworks that he’s unleashing a full EP from the mysterious Spanish producer. 
The “Mifer EP” (named after is girlfriend apparently) is a 3 track EP packed to the gills with fresh summery dancefloor disco vibes from the first beat! “Disco Dreams” is a proper groove-fest, grabbing you by the short and curlies for a serious wig out with is pulsating b-line and punchy house percussion before we head into “Leke Disco”. This harks back to the vibe of Gene Chandler era 80’s boogie with added horn action for a wicked peak time funker. We finish a hat-trick of a release with “Leke Love” which is even more 80’s boogie goodness flecked with catchy vocal stabs and that superb disco house swing that Disco Feelings seems to do so effortlessly at the moment.

"Impeach the President" is a single by funk band the Honey Drippers, written and produced by Roy Charles Hammond, known as Roy C. It was first released on Alaga Records in 1973, and was re-released to iTunes by Tuff City Records in 2017, after being sampled hundreds of times since the mid-1980s. It is a protest song advocating the impeachment of then-President of the United States Richard Nixon. In the chorus, the band chants the song's title while Roy persuades them to stop. The B-side is "Roy C's Theme".

The song is famous for having its drum pattern being one of the most adapted beats in hip hop, R&B, jazz and even pop music. The hi-hat is lifted on the sixth note of the drum pattern, similar to "Hihache" by the Lafayette Afro Rock Band which does so on the 8th (which is hidden in several R&B songs) and this means that some songs which sample "Impeach" also interpolate "Hihache", e.g. Ronny Jordan's "Come with Me".

Starting things off for this week’s show is our host and BLD resident, Goz - fresh from a gruelling transatlantic trip to fix the phase emitters at the top of BLD Towers. Expect some corkers to be pulled out of his rucksack of grooves! 

Our guest this week is Italian DJ, producer / remixer - the one and only Mauro Vecchi! 

Mauro has been self-confessed rhythm addict since the 1990s, and preaches the word of funk, disco, soulful house and anything with a groovy feeling and positive vibe. His sets spin from downtempo grooves up to quality disco/house, from vinyl to digital it makes no difference to him; the most important thing is good music! Mauro's passion for music shines through in everything he does. Always active in programming for clubs and events in his area and beyond, Mauro’s music can be heard on monthly shows including Uptown Disco Session in U-FM Radio (Rome), The Word Is Groove -  Radio RapTZ (Paris) and in his very popular Mixcloud channel.

Mauro also started his own Bandcamp page where you can find plenty of tasty edits and remixes, but above all he publishes first official tracks on And Friends Records and place some edits in prestigious collections like Discoholics Anonymous and Yacht Disco Edits / Too Slow To Disco.
A regular artist appearing on the excellent ‘And Friends’ VA series, Discoholics Anonymous Recordings and the prestigious Too Slow To Disco Series, Mauro is fully immersed in all things groovy and we are so delighted to have him on for his BLD debut. You’re gonna love it!!

Re-editing classic Brazilian boogie/disco funk songs has caught the attention of many around the globe, which has catapulted Fatnotronic to perform in some of the biggest and most renowned festivals in Europe, as well as countless of nightclubs.

// What's the idea behind the mix? And which is the track you wanted to play the most?

It’s a mix of my own research and some promos that I’ve been receiving during the pandemic and some new remixes.


// Which track did you want to play the most and why?

It’s been one year already without gigs... so I want it to play it all tracks i have hahaha.


// What tracks have you been digging which are not included in the mix?

I’ve been digging a lot Altin Gun, Kraak & Smaak, Shina Williams and the new things from DEEWEE, Ed Banger, Partyfine, Multi Culti, Codek.


// We know that you tour around Europe regularly. What difference do you feel between playing for Brazilian and European crowds?

The main thing is that people in Europe is more open minded and the scene is also more concrete. But both places have good vibes.

// Tell us about your upcoming releases. Do you balance your creativity with other disciplines besides music?

There’s been loads of remixes requests during pandemic...  like Kraak & Smaak, Nu Azeite, Rita Lee, Little Animal, Gohu mostly of them i did with my friend Emmo.

My radio show is almost one year old... “TEA WITH ME AND FRIENDS RADIO SHOW” at www.veneno.live every Friday, inviting cool artists like Joe Goddard, Digitalism, Yuksek, Tim Sweeney, Voilaaa, Paula Povoa & Jerge, OsGemeos, Irfane, Poolside, Thomas Von Party, In Flagranti and many others... it’s been great to make the weekly show cuz you get in touch with friends via radio.

And also I'm working in some new music for myself, Phillipi & Rodrigo and 2 new musical projects. Btw I'm cooking a lot and walking my dog 3 times a day, pandemic life. Hopefully this will end soon and we will be able to celebrate again
