Anniversary of Everything Vol. 1 (01.01.2020)

This city is a bit human. It likes to dress up for others, it wants to be appreciated. It only becomes itself when left alone with it's concrete, grid-like thoughts that are sometimes paved with stone.

People disappeared, and the city lays bare what they have left behind. This city and the sea are alike in parts - it takes a step back and looks at what we never notice, as we use it for our benefit. It's grim sometimes, but even the darkest of streets are sometimes the coziest. It's joyful, but it's smile evaporates when it turns away from onlookers. It's not always the cleanest, but that's not dirt - it's what makes it alive and turns brick surfaces into people homes and soul shelters.

With our old friend Sainted alongside, we are strolling along it's streets. 1pm feels remarkably familiar, but the absence of other people exposes the city. The city was not expecting it to be this way, so it feels stressed, and is longing for things to get back to normal.

And yes, headphones. No need to listen to the city breathing. Leave it alone, let it breathe like it rarely is able to. We'll all return soon, and forget how things can be. Mittens, not gloves. Somehow, you can still operate those headphones.

But in the meantime - Sh-h-h...
