Reclaiming his seat at the forefront of Hip-Hop, Method Man drops the second single off his long awaited album, The Meth Lab. The trademark raspy-voiced MC brought in Redman and Staten Island’s own Hanz On, and Streetlife for the gritty track, “Straight Gutta” takes it back to the streets and revives the timeless feeling of pure Hip-Hop.  The song isn’t an attack, but a warning – after almost ten years, Wu Tang’s finest is back on top and he’s still one of the illest lyricists in the game.

The world places little value on purity of heart; instead, it prioritizes the accuracy of calculations. People do not pursue the truth; they are drawn to power. If you examine history closely, it does not recount the victories of virtue. Rather, it narrates the stories of those who managed to endure, those who recognized that truth serves as a tool rather than a destination. This is why Machiavelli remains pertinent across all eras. He was not a cynic; he was a skilled surgeon. He did not dismiss morality; he merely lacked faith in it as a governing principle. He perceived humanity as a multifaceted, occasionally harsh, yet comprehensible entity, motivated by desire, fear, envy, and profit. He grasped that to thrive in this world, one must view it not through their own lens, but through the lens of how it wishes to be seen.
