Here’s the first single from my new album “unlearn” it’s called Be together. 
It features a snippet of spoken word from Ram Dass…
As someone who can look at the world as an outsider looking in, I see too much separation. Amplified by recent worldwide events 
As much as this attempt to create division by the media, politicians corporations ect has worked I see that it has also brought people together in ways we couldn’t even have imagined before. Love conquers fear every time.
I’ve recently been inspired by people I would never have even heard of before. Charles Eisenstein, Aubrey Marcus, Zach Bush to name a few.
These guys have shown me there is a different path from the one of separation that seems to be currently falling apart before our eyes.
 I for one am tired of being scared looking at some dystopian future and choose to see this as an opportunity to wake the fuck up before it’s too late!
Anyway I hope you enjoy this release, I’m sorry for going off on a tangent but I think it’s important to talk about these things in a non confrontational way.

“Be Together” is the first single off of 2econd Class Citizen’s album “unlearn”. It is available digitally as well as a limited vinyl postcard in collaboration with Postmanslove.

A few more notes about the upcoming album: 
Unlearn is the long awaited fourth album of DJ and producer 2econd Class Citizen. It marks the artist’s return back to the newly relaunched label Equinox Records. Their previous collaborations achieved high acclaim for their genre bending fusion of hip hop, electronica and folk to form a cinematic journey which is full of twists and turns.

Unlearn is an exploration of an artist journeying beyond their conventional confines. It is a musical adventure peppered with vintage samples concerning the perception of reality and our struggles with conforming to a broken society.

My entry for the Who sampled "samplethon" WE were given a usb stick full of previously unused samples from the Boosey and Hawkes archive and had a day to make a track.

Here is a small project i have started re editing some old acid folk works.
My first experiment here is with a track called "Lord & Master" by a band called "Heron".
The simple lyrics about nature and the changing seasons combined with the charming melodies really struck a chord with me when I first heard it.

A little more info on the band...
Martin Cockerham (vocals/guitar) and Mark Francis originally formed Spirogyra as a duo in Bolton, Lancashire in the summer of 1967.

When Martin went to the University of Kent at Canterbury[citation needed] in December 1969 he expanded the band to include fellow students Barbara Gaskin (vocals), Steve Borrill (bass guitar), and Julian Cusack (violin). They were soon spotted by student union entertainments officer Max Hole, who offered to manage them and got them a recording contract with B&C Records. Their debut album, St. Radigunds, was named after the street that their student house was on. It established them as a cult act on the underground club circuit, and sold respectably. Its follow-up, 1972's Old Boot Wine, appeared on Peg Records and showcased a harder-edged sound than their predominantly acoustic debut.[citation needed] After the release of Old Boot Wine, the band was pared back to the duo of Cockerham and Gaskin, who were by now romantically involved. Their final album, Bells, Boots and Shambles, appeared on Polydor in April 1973 and sold poorly.

As this is ongoing I decided to change the compilation title to "Old Folk wine" after the second track I worked on called "old boot wine". It was the first title I came up with and I didn't use it for whatever reason but I changed my mind so there you go ;) 
Seasons was inspired by the book "Seasons they change" by Jeanette Leach, something im reading right now about the whole acid folk movement... 
 I spent more time than usual working on the cover for this. Experimenting with my gimp skills (that being a piece of software called gimp similar to photoshop ;) enjoy!

The Content (L)abel is proud to present the latest project from London based DJ/Producer 2econd Class Citizen entitled “A Hall of Mirrors”. As the title suggests this project is a sonic journey into the world of perception. Fusing the analog and digital worlds, 2CC builds on his signature blend of psych/hip-hop and amplified folk that has been keeping listeners spellbound for years.

A Hall of Mirrors” features various guests, some including singers Graciellita and Bobbie Watson, legendary Los Angeles Mc Myka 9 from the Freestyle Fellowship, The Herbaliser (Department H), Kenneth Winkler along with studio musicians recorded in Brighton, UK and Innsbruck, Austria.

The cover art entitled “illusion” is inspired by the album title and was created by French neo-surreal collagist Albane Simon with typography alterations performed by Openmind (Ninjatune).

In his live sets 2econd Class Citizen recreates the complexity and depth of orchestration he has become known for, using sound editing software, live drumming and scratching to keep a strong improvisational aspect, and often embellishing performances with the introduction of guest musicians and vocalists.
