Being a part of the Berlin club culture for years and an enthusiast of electronic music, especially the harder spheres oft it, Alan a.k.a. ultracore161 felt the urge to start mixing himself two years ago. His mixes are defined by hard sometimes trancy and melodic, sometimes rhythmic and merciless sounds and a cross-genre selection of tracks.

The mix starts off with groovy yet pumping rhythms developing into hard kicking techno. The energy progresses over two hours to reach its climax with Hardcore- and Hardstyle-infused tracks towards the end.

When 13enkei and GCOD stand behind the decks together, they unleash a groove fiasco in the sense of old school hardgroove, at the edge of the allowed bpm range. As the two founders of @zimatechno they curate their own techno evenings in Zurich with a focus on underground techno and sound. As they grow together in a b2b, solo or in the collective Zima, they concentrate on their sound development, to create something fresh and unique. GCOD who learned part of DJing and producing from Benkei, has long caught up to his senpai which makes their combo a special one. Playing side by side also means comparing their skills in a weirdly competitive way, fighting with kicks and hats to the listeners delight.

This is the first time we release a mix since we repositioned our political approach towards a more conscious way of partying. Here is what Lino has to say on the subject that matters most to us these days:

Lino: "2 years ago I was abstinent for a long time - the relapses crept in again more often with the re-opening of the clubs because these places, which is generally not reprehensible, are a complete consumption trigger fire. 10 minutes in the venue and you are already confronted with more visibly intoxicated than sober Atz*innen.
From minute 1 I associated techno, trance, etc. with substances and I have to say - I was afraid I wouldn't like this music anymore without getting high. Turns out: after playing my first time sober, I only loved it more.
Electronic music is fulfilling, trippy and an art in itself even without substances - something that encompasses much more than just stuff!
Sober Parties would offer the possibility to enjoy this dance ecstasy without consumption pressure and to consciously perceive sets in their entirety on the floor.
Not that I deny intoxication - not at all - but spaces where music, dance and community are in the foreground - and not randomly banging out with drugs or endless nonsense babbling in the smoking area - I would like to see more of them."
