It is undeniable that we are living in uncertain times. For those of us failing to fit the patriarchal neoliberalist mould we have lost hope in the future. We can see capitalism is not working but we cannot yet envisage an alternative. We discover that the stability we were instructed to obtain whether it be financial, political or ecological, is fleeting, if at all. The resulting anxiety is an instrument of neoliberalism that prevents many of us from being able to raise consciousness of the structural injustices that alienate us. 

In a world where security is no longer feasible, the only constant we can rely on is change. Barad teaches us that the world is a dynamic process of intra-activity and materialisation, an ongoing ebb and flow of agency. The Buddhist Law of Impermanence proves that nothing in this world is eternal. 
Regardless of ones point of reference we can understand that every aspect of life, physical and mental is in flux and perhaps this transience is the only thing we can depend on. 

Each month we invite an artist to ruminate on these ideas and create an hour of relief from these anxieties. A temporary suspension of reality, where the listener can speculate on alternate modes of existence that reject hetero- patriarchal systems of oppression.

This month we have invited SVLBRD @w_a_r_m_t_h to reflect on this.

Stockholm duo “Avancera”, consisting of Dorisburg and Kalawila, explores the void with their debut EP. Over five releases, Stockholm label Mountain Explosion Device had made its intentions clear—to release the absolute best in subtly morphing, psychedelic techno. Its sixth release is no different. The A-side displays rogue frequencies seeping through an ominous office building, as fully automated cleaning bots pass each other through revolving doors. “Skogenräna” adds an addictive percussion-based venture into the feral forests of their native Sweden. The remix comes courtesy of Berlin based
wonderchild Mor Elian. A mind bending desert trip from one of the most exciting producers out there.

Como no podía ser de otra forma, Nostradamus, el antecesor de Sandro Rey en versión renacentista tenía ya preparadas unas cuantas profecías para este 2021. Mojando perrunillas en su taza de té verde ligeramente nublado con leche vio reflejado absolutamente todo lo que nos había de deparar este año: ya predijo en código abiertamente interpretable cómo los suscriptores del club internacional del rifle tomarían el capitolio yanki, al igual que la nevada asesina que asolaría la meseta central después de subir Maradona a los cielos, y cuando todavía no nos hubiéramos recuperado de toda la movida nos venía con estas:

“Sabed hermanos que el 13 de enero a las 13 horas será hallada la llave que os abrirá las puertas de la mente, donde veréis al gran halcón, que os guiará a través de la senda del Chamann. Rubina & André are a Cascais-based duo carrying the sacred lineage of house and techno’s earnest history as an extactic communal practice through hypnotic acid tones, jackin’ rhythms and squiggly basslines from analog hardware – TR909, TR808, TB303, SH101 and analogue effects. Locked, sometimes for hours, into shapeshifting harmonic, textural and rhythmic improvisations their “secretly” mythical appearances garnered them justified praise as one of the most exciting live acts working on the sprawling field of electronic music
