Fanontale is an AU that takes inspiration from Undertale fanon perceptions by using it to influence the roles the beloved characters take, as well as manifesting in-universe, affecting the characters and their stories.
This is not an Undertale AU about "What if Undertale fanon was good", but rather one that seeks to answer the question of "what if fanon perceptions had direct consequences for the lives these characters live?"

Frisk takes Toriel's role. Monsters in the CG say they're the Caretaker, but they wouldn't call themselves that. Alongside one of their new friends, they've transformed the Ruins into their new home, an oasis of greenery and lush, thriving plantlife, called the Community Gardens. It's a hobby, since they've got a lot more free time now than they did before. They're very polite and kind, albeit a little eccentric and flirty at times. Perhaps a little too polite.

I find this sequence very interesting in the context of the game. The statue (or "Angel") goes on a monologue about how the world has degraded after pushing her into obscurity, and how it's "tainted" her too. She bestows the player with her power to "undo what has been done". Oh and another thing. She calls herself "Tuyoki" which is also the name of the artist for the game. For those who haven't yet played, do with that what you will, but it's genuinely really clever on Toby's part.
