Originally started as solo side project, Two Steps North (2SN) have evolved into something more than just musical experiment. Since 2008, many things happened to the band, including changes in musical format and several substitutes of band members; leaving Pasha Arief (songwriter / singer / guitar) and Arya Nugroho (lead guitar) as original inventors. Besides its musical aspect, lyric is one of the strongest elements in the band’s repertoire. In his own way, Pasha is able to write songs and lyrics with explicit intent to affect people – through combination between obscure rhythm, catchy tune, and daily conversation (in which talking about everyday issues). His song writing skill and storytelling technique are something that could be a symbolic representation of life and human relationships. With the help from Dimas Rizky Pramana (bass / backing vocal) and Bayu Adisapoetra (drums and percussions) as 2SN’s recent members, they now able to combine different kind of music; creating melodically addictive alternative indie rock. The four-pieces have proved adept at combining catchy vocals over memorable riffs and some piano interludes. If people are looking for raw and honest energy, they will be into 2SN music. In their upcoming debut album “Closer”, 2SN have been able to forge a unique concept and audience that crosses many spectrums.
