Artist and producer DaddySoundBox takes an eclectic collection of influences- bringing contrast to his music and yet seamlessly making them work. With inspiration from grime, drill, and RnB, he places haunting, minor key melodies alongside tight vocals and dark beats; with a laid back, party atmosphere, this fusion gives him just enough alternative attitude to set him apart amongst both rappers and songwriters.
 
​Working occasionally as a guest DJ on Sub FM, DaddySoundBox- real name Kevin Igwe- takes musical experimentation as an integral part of songwriting. Whether making guest mixes or bringing together disparate genres, DaddySoundBox sees the exciting possibilities which can only come from taking risks. Starting as a producer over ten years ago, his keen ear for arrangements helps blend together his many influences, and chilled, RnB style vocals give way to intense and high-energy rapping. With inspiration from both grime and drill, Igwe has taken an entrepreneurial, independent mindset from both these home-grown UK genres.

These marriages of opposites give his music a subtle, smoky vibe reminiscent of darker pop acts like The Weeknd, and turns the ubiquitous rapped verse up a notch with proper grassroots drill-influenced beats and lyrical flow.
 
​This bold approach comes from Igwe’s love of following his intuition as opposed to jumping onto trends. Setting himself apart in a way which is only possible with a true passion for his craft, Igwe celebrates the legacy of tight-knit, local music scenes whilst elevating his tracks with pop atmosphere and slick beats which make a top notch soundtrack to any house party. Both giving pop some raw, authentic credentials and adding RnB smoothness to drill and grime, he is as at home both rapping as delivering subtle and melodic hooks.
