Matthew Van Der Byl is a young, intuitive, and relentless talent born and raised in the vibrant city of Johannesburg, with a deeply rooted love for Dub and Deep House. Performing under the alias DIRTYFVCE, he masterfully balances pleasure and pain as he tirelessly digs for new tracks and curates sets that reflect the language of his soul and mind. His passion has evolved over nearly his entire life, having been exposed to various forms of Deep House and Dub since the early age of five or six. This overwhelming love resonates throughout his sets, giving tracks room to breathe and drawing out the crowd’s raw energy. Layers of percussive elements, finely tuned melodies, and thought-provoking vocals blend to create something both nostalgic for South Africans and deeply curated to speak to the listener’s spirit.



“When putting together this ensemble of sounds, I had to tap into parts of my psyche I hadn’t previously revealed in my music selections,” he says. “I pieced together elements of my imagination and emotions that usually go untouched. Music, to me, allows us to create moments—capturing them and linking emotions to those moments as vivid memories. As a DJ, my sole purpose is to help shape THAT MOMENT for a listener.”

Hypnotic minimal Spacey Disco techno with attitude and a skating driving grooves. ;) Here is a preview of the live set recorded on Saturday at Antonetta's bday party on Saturday. I managed to record 40 minutes of the set. I'll upload the rest later this week. :Side note I might use the recording of this to make a new song. It was in ableton live with a ableton Push so I have all the parts and midi ect as if the song was being produced live :)

2wice Shye is an electronic music production duo from Johannesburg, South Africa, consisting of JonT Schoeman and Cameron Last. With over a decade of production experience, they focus on crafting immersive, evolving techno, blending playful percussion, hypnotic synth leads, and deep, driving basslines to tell a story through sound.

In the studio, JonT and Cameron work together to shape the 2wice Shye sound, sometimes collaborating in real time and other times bouncing stems back and forth. While they produce as a duo, JonT performs solo live techno sets pushing creativity to the limit with his setup. He no longer DJs in the traditional sense; the closest he gets is incorporating a few stems from existing tracks, choosing instead to sculpt every set live, ensuring a unique and dynamic performance each time.

Their music is deeply personal never forced creativly (since leaving a major), always heartfelt. While some tracks are available on SoundCloud, more of their releases can be found on Spotify, Apple Music, and other platforms.
