Human Soul [2xAA remix]

Some of the loops I've written with nanoloop mono over the past couple of days. I hope this can illustrate how awesome this cartridge sounds.

I've added gain with a limiter and a noise gate to this as mono is a little quiet and a tad noisey.

Recorded with an original Game Boy with prosound/line output.

I was sat on the riverbank of Pegnitz in Nürnberg for an hour or so today enjoying the beautiful unseasonal weather and this track materialised.

In post: slight EQ to boost the highs as always and a limiter, also delay and reverb.

My nanoloop mono cart has been away for a few months so that legendary modder Joe Bleeps could whip up this Game Boy Pocket with a specific audio jack to output audio for nanoloop mono (see photo).
Just got it back today and this track came into existance.
No noise removal, what you hear is practically what you get.

There's a nice bass sound I managed to squeeze out of nanoloop 2.8.2 here. Kinda saw-like which is pretty cool. No FM used here.

Common Fate

A cover of Take That's Never forget for JSConf EU's introduction.
Written with LSDj on a Game Boy Color.

Take That's original track has an odd BPM of 91.275, LSDj only supports BPM intervals of 1, so this is time-stretched to match the original.

Because of the complexity of the original and the Game Boy only having 4 channels, the song was written at double BPM to "stack" the drums and the bass-line, hence the Game Boy Color for the faster CPU.

Some EQ, reverb and compression has been added in post.

Never Forget - Take That (JSConf EU 2xAA cover)

I'm joined by the wonderful @cTrix on an impromptu jam session with whatever was on my nanoloop mono cartridge and sound effects from Pocket Music.

nanoloop mono ran through a Korg Monotron Delay.
Pocket Music ran a Korg Kaoss Pad Mini.
This recording is RAAAWW, no post on this at all.

cTrix was master of filters, effects and SFX, I was driving nanoloop.

We played a similar set the night before at Hyperwave x µCollective in London on October 12th, 2019.
