The TED chip from the Commodore Plus/4 finds itself back on the menu in Summer Chip XII, so I had to take a crack at it yet again. Since my last TED track, I've learned to use the Multi-framespeed feature of TEDzakker to create those cool effects found in hardware refresh hacks.

This was part of Battle of the Bits' Advent Calendar series, where each day had a different format to write songs for. Day 4 was actually a choice between two systems: Game Boy and Sega Master System. Both required the use of Deflemask though, but I was able to learn the quirks of that program enough to make a silly Kirby-like tune.

This was part of Battle of the Bits' Advent Calendar series, where each day had a different format to write songs for. Day 5 was dedicated to the ZX Spectrum Beeper, a format I'm quite fond of, but never written anything for it before. The thin and rough sound of the beeper made me end up with a sorta magical metal type tune.

This is the first notable cover I've made after getting into Clone Hero and hearing about FamiStudio. FamiStudio really revitalized my desire to make covers again, so I thought it would be fitting to cover songs that I found out through Clone Hero.

This is similar in vein to the Perpetual Motion cover I did. I had just played through the CSC Hard Songs 2 pack, and this song stuck out to me the most.

This one has a bit of a funny story behind it. I originally charted the original version of this song for the CSC Extreme Metal 3 pack, but I found out that someone else had already charted it for another pack. So rather than leaving my chart to waste, I decided to just do a cover of it.

This was around the time Furnace Tracker started making the rounds, which allows you to make music for a ton of sound chips. I wanted to experiment using the Sunsoft 5B expansion chip, because I thought it would fit well with making heavier NES tracks, and Famitracker's implementation of it doesn't take advantage of the envelope waveforms all that well.

The vocals were converted using RDPCM. There isn't any tracker that can store all that data yet, but it's theoretically possible on real hardware... provided your cartridge can hold MBs worth of data.
