The Ebertbrothers are Axel and Michael Ebert, an artist/composer duo living and working in Berlin. They started to collaborate in 2006, first creating video art pieces, then moving more towards a combination of visual&sound performances, which is now their main focus.

During a year of gigs throughout Europe in 2010 they refined and extended their sonic palette. “Susten Pass” showcases their broad range of composition skills, featuring both detailed, micro-edited studio tracks and raw, performance-inspired landscapes of sound.

The album shifts between slow-motion sceneries (“Chrono”, “A perfect Fairytale” and “Commode”) and dark grinders like “Feature Film” and “Black String”. On the way it passes by electro-esque tracks like “Downrock Crooza” and “Risc Assembler”  before taking a rest and having some beans&bacon at a lonely campfire (“Cowboy”). The album closes with the  enthusiastic and shimmering “Susten Pass” and “Maitre du Village”. 
Track 14 is dedicated to the late Joe Papa from “Controlled Bleeding”.

CANDL - Get [The 3000 Network Premiere]

Extra Spicy’s third various artists compilation, XTR003, is an all Australian affair. This nine-track release features some of our favourite local producers and covers the full spectrum of bass music, from classic purist flavours to mutant genre cross-pollinations. 

Heavy, chopped-up breaks and massive bass stabs pervade 99 Nissan Patrol’s Ruffla, Mashup from Akul, and label owner Mincy’s Gnome Home. 

Fans of more stripped-down flavours will want to make a beeline for the UKG nostalgia of Why Didn’t You Mention It? by Myledo and Krypsis’ dark garage groove LoFi Rider. 

The final portion of the compilation raises the tempo. DJ SUNROOF gives a respectful nod to the past on Break The Mold, a jungle banger chock full of mangled breakbeats. 

Hardcore energy is merged with chaotic footwork sample manipulation and ghetto tech attitude on Say My Namefrom Floor Twenty, while UNKLE SYD channels 1992 warehouse energy on Sydtopia. End User License Agreement rounds out proceedings with a heady, dubwise roller that focuses on spacious echoes and big sub bass. 

XTR003 proves that you don’t need to look beyond Australia’s backyard for big talent.

Over the years at threethousand.co.uk we have had the pleasure of working with such an incredibly wide range of producers, covering so many different areas of underground dance music as we do so. Today, we are going to be heading over to one of the UK's spiritual homes of underground dance music as the Bristol flag looms into view. The city has always been known as an innovative place, sitting as one of the UK's leading hot spots for new sounds and futuristic creation across all genre of music to tell you the truth.

For today's outing however, we are heading to two different cities as we join forces with our Mancunian allies at Manuka HQ to deliver an exclusive premiere from this brand new release. They welcome Spektralsound, a Bristol-based duo who have been making serious waves over the past few months with their dungeon-esc take on bass music. It's safe to say their sound has a typically Bristolian twist to say the least, with a real focus on the darker, more chilling side. When we asked Manuka co-founder: Hypho how he first came across them he said: "I came across these guys through their release on keysound!", a label which also makes perfect sense for the sounds these guys are looking to build.

Although the EP is made up of four outstanding creations, we are really excited to be bringing you the premiere that we are as we jump into the VIP mix of 'Metal Tears'. The original track is as swampy as they come, but this VIP sends the track into a completely different stratosphere, focussing more on the subtle, pulsating subs below and one of the moodiest atmospheres we've taken in on a premiere so far this year. The whole project is written on a similar vibe and it's definitely one we wholeheartedly reccomend.
