CCL launches their subglow label with Rebuild, an EP from Bristol club provocateur @georg-i, featuring remixes from Metrist and the elusive B. McQueen.

After years of lighting up the dance floor at subglow and serving as a cornerstone in club sets, Rebuild is finally getting an official release to the public. georg-i’s previous releases on Perko’s FELT and aya & BFTT’s YCO imprints have established him as an incendiary club constructor probing the fringes of contemporary dance music. The release will be accompanied by poetry from subglow co-conspirator and artist Nadia Marcus, co-founder of Berlin experimental publishing platform TABLOID Press.

Informed by the restlessness of living in an apocalyptic present and the desire to rebuild the broken systems surrounding us, Rebuild is influenced by math rock's feverish and cataclysmic energy, eschewing conventional club BPMs in favour of dizzying tempo trickery and polymetric wizardry. “Torn In Two” gets off to a slow, chugging start, with raucous synths riffing over emphatic drums, but soon swirls into a juddering, pointillistic frenzy. “Bridging The Gap” is a cathartic shout, an acidic crescendo whose triplet meter offers tempo-transitioning opportunities for adventurous DJs who don’t mind a bit of maths. “Communication” gallops along cathartically through ricocheting synths and drums, unfolding into a thrilling breakdown. On remix duties, B. McQueen re-imagines “Torn In Two” as a sultry, dubbed-out roller, charting groove across a heady plain, while Metrist’s ambitious rework of “Communication” amps up the tension and primes it for a peak-time dancefloor sometime in the next millennium.

@SSSLIP and @Betonbrutt have tapped up grime pioneer Trim to add his bars on 17th Grid release, pressed for the first time on vinyl !

Trim steps up to the mic for the lead track, 'Pigeons', which brings next-gen grime energy with raw, club-ready vibes and menacing bars that are underpinned by a wobbly low end, and it's all perfect for dance floor detonation. 'Transit Limb' dives into a nostalgic yet forward-thinking fusion of experimental grime and UK bass that subtly echoes the sounds of the early 2010s with twisted breaks and chopped vocals.
The boys also invited @Notiiton and @BeatriceMasters for two great remixes, Noti turned the lead track into a precise electro banger and Beatrice drowned Transit Limb to the darkest depths of the ocean to close the EP.

First time I came across SPE:C was through Sepehr’s elegant chugger « Roll the Dice », I’ve now had the opportunity to do my own take on it, very much inspired by 2010s techy dubstep from the likes of Asusu, Fureshu, A Made Up Sound, etc …channeling milimalism and nostalgia.

Szczupakola is a DJ and selector from Poznań, a co-creator of a leftfield collective Polihymnia,  closely connected to Ślina club. She goes for a multigenre and experimental approach, which can be heard in her non obvious and contrasting sets. She moves around a heavy club drive and subtle sonic experiments with ease, creating a space for reflection and dance. Grime, dubstep, bass hybrids - in her mixes, there's no place for compromise.

Philly DJ and Producer, Precolumbian, bringing a heavy mix of club sounds at our iBomba Boiler Room Off Camera in May of 2018. Recorded live in Brooklyn.

For over 5 years iBomba has been at the forefront of pushing progressive club sounds from across the glove in NYC. In May 2018 we partnered with them for a special Off Camea event in Bedstuy. The night featured sets from Berlin’s Perera Elsewhere, Brooklyn MC Cakes Da Killa, Philly’s Precolumbian, and resident DJs Ushka and Beto.

Shpongle is amazing and if you are musically open minded, enjoy diverse influences from dub to fourth world to Goa, breaks and more and finally if you embrace psychedelia, then you'd be a fool not to give them a chance.

Here is a slow edit of the Prometheus remix of their track A New Way To Say Hooray. I kept the long intro because it's nice and if you don't like it you can just skip it.

Art is unrelated but the vibes reminded me of the tune. It's by Kiyoshi Awazu.

Following his debut on Shall Not Fade last year with long-time collaborator Newborn Jr., Earth Trax returns to the label for his first LP under this moniker. Also known for his musings under his given name Bartosz Kruczyński, as well as The Phantom and one half of duo Ptaki, Earth Trax is just as comfortable crafting ambient downtempo cuts as he is dreamy breaks and driving cold wave. LP1 showcases his knack for different styles and sounds, bringing together different influences from early IDM to house, breakbeat and minimal synth.
