As everyone knows, words can not describe the music of this Detroit visionary, but we'll try. Futuristic, avant-garde-esque, mesmerizing, trippy and minimalistic / reduced techno funk as expected in A side, but highly emotional and evocative, as only he can do. On the flip side, Terrence redefines and takes to another level the concept of dark, experimental, abstract, atmospheric, alienated and dystopian music, a true musical trip (perhaps a nightmare???) to dive into. Italian producer Evod returns to 30D ExoPlanets for his second outing on the label. Known for the deep tripping techno that he puts out mostly via his own Evod Music you know it's special when he steps out of his comfort zone and presents new works via another outlet. 

Here he lands on 30D Records, after a first release with us in 2021, it's a welcome return. Presenting an exciting pack of deep techno, starting of with mesmerizing 'Molecole', a true piece of intergalactic space techno. More energy gets unleashed in the fierce 'Campi Magneti' with its clapping drive and pulsating kick drums. For the latter part of the EP Evod dives deep into the dub territories for 'Ioni' and the wonderful atmospheric drifter 'Atomi' as a closer. Evod shows his many sides just in four tracks and it's another confirmation that he's on the forefront of an exciting wave in modern techno.

Kastil, aka of the Spanish Mario Castillo, is well known and especially for his role as a producer of furious and intricate techno works with a high industrial influence.
But at 30D we like that our close people (and Kastil is very close, since he is responsible for the mastering of all our label's releases) have absolute freedom to release what they consider appropriate, here is a clear example: Mario leaves aside his usual four-to-the-floor vision to immerse himself -completely on purpose- in classic IDM and the most beautiful, musical and even epic electronica. Only one of the four tracks that conform the EP ('Polymorphic') clearly looks to the dance floor although it shares, along with the three remaining tracks, the artist's passion for the timeless sound of the 90's.

The 30D Records machinery does not stop. A new stylistic adventure has been concretized in the new label’s series “Eyes Have It”, which will be conducted by the well-known Sonar and 30D’s resident DJ, Angel Molina, as A&R. 

The Lucio Fulci’s movies iconic scary-eyes synthesizes the series essence perfectly. “Eyes Have It” builds the fundamentals for the boundless experimentation, lightlessness, cold and mechanical dynamics. 

The EP “Shelter” is the very first result of this new proposal, an incontestable work signed by Isolated Lines. The Swiss artist has a solid background in underground music throughout various projects, in and outside of electronics. 
That means a wider creative resources that can be easily noticeable, for instance, in the music harmonies. Avant-garde, solid sound and savoir-faire, that is what defines the Isolated Lines production.

“Shelter” EP stylistic codes are crystal clear, brazen obstinacy of the rhythm base which sets the basis for epic distorted textures, that may become deeply emotional, like in the cases of “Onshore” and “Landfall”. Steadfast rhythmic cycles on slamming sound mantras. 
Furthermore, the EP includes an industrially nervous revision of “Onshore” constructed by 30drop. 

Isolated Lines’ “Shelter” EP is an utterly flawless starting point for this strongly promising new 30D series. So henceforth, keep always an eye on “Eyes Have It”!

In times of disturbance, the world has to adjust to current needs, at 30D we are no exception and are striving to adapt to the situation we are all living through today. The label is fully aware of the efforts and changes that our community are facing at these difficult times and with our strong belief in the power of music, we have decided to continue to release new material.
 
Our sub-label ‘Close Encounters’ publishes its third release ‘Third Contact’ EP on April 24th 2020, bringing together a range of artists to express their musical vision as a virtual union, somewhat reflective of the globes current confinement.
 
‘Third Contact EP' delivers four tracks from an alliance of artists who are at a peak in their careers; Denise Rabe clearly defines her dark, hypnotic trade-mark aesthetic in 'We'll Meet In Shanghai', a timeless track even before its release. Geistform combines industrial-electro with a raw techno drive, continuously channelling his masterful energy in '3C 273'. A more dancefloor-oriented B side features ‘Stolen’ from Temudo, delivering rolling groove and distorted bass-lines, Adriana Lopez closing the EP with her high energy, spellbinding ‘SMV’, both B-side tracks perfectly geared toward a wide variety of DJ sets.

Conrad Van Orton and Jheal sign the third release for Eyes Have It, 30D sub-label that, as usual, explores the darkest, coldest and even suffocating side of the techno spectrum.  

As it happened in the second release (‘Sei Tracce In Nero EP‘ by Reeko & Group), the high contrast between both sides gives sense to the album, giving it a strange but perfect balance, this time quite more oriented to the dance floor. It’s for sure that some people will think that CVO and Jheal might use elements that at first sight might be familiar but, let’s be honest, both have the ability to make everything sound very original.

On the A side Conrad Van Orton, an Italian producer with a lot of experience in techno and the most experimental electronics, elevates the listening to a sonic musical experience, literally. The three tracks, although ‘Dysfunctional Organic Device’ is probably the best example, are pure techno brutality, as highly raw, energetic and obsessive as they are obviously functional. Three true ‘monsters’.

On the B side Jheal, a face already known to the label thanks to his brilliant participation in ‘Close Encounters 002’, brings melancholy (‘150 Wreaths’) and tons of introspection (‘Our Fathers’) to the record. It is not easy for industrial techno to sound as emotional as when Alejandro manipulates it, something especially remarkable for such a young producer. Congratulations.
