[SPC098] COL LAWTON & THE COMPANY SOUNDSYSYTEM - Groove Me (Original Mix)

Year on year Oslo based party starting outfit Det Gode Selskab provide us with a jam packed sampler featuring artists from their collective, family and affiliates of the label, but also welcome a flurry of new artists on board each time. Split into 4 parts spread across the next few months the sampler kicks off with a heavyweight package curated by Jack himself.

Heading up part one is Lazy Pete, label regular Henriku, Rex Ronny, Alm, a return for Philip Hinz, alongside Herman Crantz, and last but not least, Koloniari. The beautiful, deep, house-energy in Lazy Pete's opening track "She's A Replicant (Underground Mix)" sets the stage, before you are hit with the huge drums and peak time action of Henriku's "To The Mountains". Conga time with pulsating bass action. Dreamy synths lead the way in the aptly named "Cheese Police" from Rex Ronny. Hitting the nail on the head is also "Acid House Party '' by Alm, squelchy acid tones breathing life into the housey drum patterns. Let's Jack. Teasing further rave action is Philip Hanz & Herman Crantz with "Stay", a driven outing looking to lift the energy of the floor. Direct house music nostalgia in "Believe In Love", the offering from Koloniari, beautiful keys conversing with the slick motion of the track, classy vocal samples flashing in and out.

This is just the beginning of this enormous sampler, so let's hit the floor and get down to some of Jack's favourites!

The Company Soundsystem (aka Alex Musto) returns to the label for his latest release 'Defective Metaphors'. 3 jams on the dirty indie dance/tech house side of things, and the EP also includes a remix by label head Eric Shans.

'Malicious Intent With Your Mind' starts things off with a playful bass line, crystalline pads, and a breaks type beat along with some fun stream of consciousness dialog by vocalist H.A. Eugene over the course of it. Simply put, it's a feel good, party track that will light up your dance floors. Eric's remix takes it and turns it into a proper peak time banger with big analog bottom end, swirling melodies, and slick arpeggios. Next up is 'We Want Revolutionaries' and it takes vintage spoken word samples over grimy, driving beats, buzz-saw type bass lines, and afto-beat style percussion. And to close things out, 'So Help Me God' heads into after hours territory with twisted vocals, droning effected arpeggios, and energetic drums

The Company Soundsystem emerged from Brooklyn's underground house scene and has made a name for himself with incendiary live sets and genre-crossing original tracks on labels King Street (NYC), Nite Grooves (NYC), LTHM (SF) and 3 Bridge Records (NYC).

3Bridge Records is based in Brooklyn, NY run by founder Greg Cuoco and creative director Eric Shans. The label is a collection of sounds from around the world that push the frontiers of dance music that aren't regimented to any specific micro-genre or style. It connects those who believe that sound, visuals, and the landscape that surrounds them define their creative experience and output.
