Mel BANG.’s first studio album MK-Ultra is a project that speaks volumes in such a short amount of time. Clocking in at just over 23 minutes, MK-Ultra creates a psychedelic soundscape where Mel opens up about the highs and lows of life, fame, and how the things you love can eventually come to control you. Mel BANG. recruited a small selection of talented producers from all over the world, and one of the most talented artists/engineers (F3rry), also from Brooklyn, to put help together this project.  It’s filled with grungy street bangers that give you a glimpse into his lifestyle (Tik-Tok, Bando, Nino Back), undeniably catchy sing-along anthems (On The Floor and Spanish/English track Dimelo) where Mel croons to silky bass lines and murky 808’s that remind you love can be like roller coaster ride on LSD. Mel copes with the loss of his muse on acoustic closer (Yazzy’s Interlude) which serves as anecdotal “breaking of chains” for all things that control oneself. MK-Ultra is like stepping into a pocket dimension where time does not exist, only music. As Mel constantly reminds the listener on the album, we stepped inside of BANG. World.
