"Tightened up" and "fattened" the drums a bit, split off the triangle wave top end from the bass tone and messed with that a bit, changed the pad to something totally different, and created three different beat structures to try out.

Change My Pitch Up

Simple drum loop with a highly-modified sample out of a video game tweaked into a mid and a bass.  Almost all done via audio processing and effects in Reason (no synths used)

Attack Chopper (WIP)

First song tried out with Reason 3 back in 2008.  Hard drive crashed 5 minutes after I made it and I lost everything.  Haven't been able to recreate it since.

Contains a snippet of Scarface's "Never" - used to practice working with vocal samples in a sequencer without the bespoke capability of doing so.

Test Drive

At some point early in the 3 minute cursing which forms the intro of the music video for Aphex Twin's "Windowlicker", one of the characters plays a portion of a tune in a car.  This track happens to be an almost half-time rendition of the main theme of the Windowlicker tune, albeit with different instrumentation and a bit of a more dubstep/hip-hop feel (complete with scratching).

This track attempts to take this short clip a bit further with a more personal spin on it.

First riff I've made after a long time away from making music.

Maybe this one will become something special.

Can't decide if I should have a mix of half-time and normal tempi or if I should pick one and stick to it.

After a bit more audio manipulation in Reason 6.5 (making rather generous use of timestretching and the like), I came upon a bassline that seemed to breathe on its own.  It could be a bit oversaturated right now, but hopefully with some tweaking, it'll learn to sit in the mix well.

It's been several months since I've even tried to write a tune.Occasional ideas may have found their way into the computer, but frankly, they all sucked.

With classes out of the way and a bit of time before exams, the opportunity finally came up to fire up the keyboards again.I've really been into some old-skool recently (Ram Trilogy - Molten Beats) as well as some newer stuff from Mainland Europe, mostly dark yet very minimal stuff.

Coupling these influences with my finally figuring out how to use a modulation envelope properly led to this tune, currently in progress.

P.S. the tune is probably due for a key change sometime later on.
