Here's my 1st cover.  It's from Shadow of the Beast for the Commodore Amiga.  I had fun doing this.  I've learned quite a few tricks using LSDj on the Gameboy.  I'll be doing some more covers to help build my skills, & hopefully learn how to make some original music as well.  Enjoy!!!  :D :D :D

I did my best to cram 4 instruments into 3 channels of sound (not considering the Noise channel).  There was horrible popping & clicking coming from the WAV channel, but I managed to edit that out with Audacity, & even resync all 4 channels again. This is my 1st (completed) original song.  It's an ultra happy song to spread joy to all, through all times of the year. This is my greatest effort yet.  This is the true power of the Gameboy's sound chip.

It may not be perfect, but as always, I did my very best with it.  I'm actually kind of mad cause the scary sound in the beginning sounds kind of glitched.  I couldn't fix it anymore than what it is now.  Despite that, everything else came out much to my liking.

I made a song on my Gameboy for the new DuD Comp Vol. 9 album, & this part of the song was my favorite, so I decided to practice playing it on the piano.  I don't know how to play piano, but I worked many, many hours learning to play this right because I love it.  I think it sounds really beautiful in piano, though it would sound better if someone skilled at playing piano played it.  I did this on an old, cheap Casio keyboard from the 1980s with 6 10+ year old size D batteries that still work very strong for some strange reason.

Meh, I screwed up on this one.  The structure of this song is pretty monotonous.  I couldn't find a way to variate the song while keeping it sad.  I tried some different sections, but I just couldn't get anything to work.  I was really concentrating on the "singing" part.  I imagine the lead as a girl singing, & I wanted to have the singing all the way through nonstop.  Hopefully, my next few attempts will begin to gain some structure.  Regardless, any c.c. is always welcome.  I'll gladly take any help I can get.  Thanks!!!

As for the programming, this is the 1st time I managed to use the very fast speed on an original song.  I've been doing it quite well with my covers, but it's harder to do for an original song because, with an original song, the final outcome is completely unknown, whereas with a cover, the song is already done & you know how much more memory you'll need & stuff.  I'm hoping to be able to apply the same techniques I use for my covers to original songs as well, & this seems to be a good start.

Many thanks to @2xAA from https://ucollective.org for putting together another cool Christmas collaboration album, and to everyone who contributed their cool music to it. This one is another ultra happy song to spread joy to all, through all times of the year.  I did my best to make a very beautiful song.  The end result didn't come out so good though.  There is horrible popping and clicking all over the place due to all of the stereo panning and wave changes I used.  Stereo panning on the Gameboy causes popping and clicking for some strange reason.  I started editing the noise in Audacity, but there is WAY too much, and I ran out of time.  I apologize for that.  I hope the song is nice enough to make up for it.

Earlier in the year, I finally mastered writing in LSDJ at blazing fast speeds.  This is my 1st completed song using this technique.  This opens up a world of freedom that you cannot get using slow speeds.  By writing at super fast speeds and recycling memory blocks as much as you can, it is possible to save even more memory than you would by writing at slow speeds.  This file size is even smaller than any of my previous songs & covers.

I linked 2 Gameboys together for this song.  This is my 1st time trying out 2xLSDj.  Although I wasn't quite sure what to do with them, I really like having the extra channels of sound available.  I kept leaving the percussion for last, & then I ran out of memory, so the percussion in this song is quite limited.  For this song, I imagined God singing His message of peace & love to His children.  Since we are all children of God, it can refer to children or adults alike.

The original version of this song was a bad recording.  I have links to it down below for comparison.  This version is slightly modified, & it has been cleaned up & mastered in FL-Studio.  It's my 1st experience working with FL-Studio, so it may not be perfect, but I tried my best.  I think it's a definite improvement over the original recording.  My apologies to 2xAA for submitting such a bad recording.  Now that I know how to do this, it won't happen again.  : )

With this song, I continue experimenting writing with the fast speeds in LSDj.  I find it much easier that way.  Consequently, this song has increased my growing dislike for LSDj.

Bad mix / mastering???  Composition sucks???  As always, any c.c. is greatly appreciated.  I hope you like it.  Thanks!!!  : )

Hi.  I'm slowly trying to teach myself how to make music now.  I'm actually dedicating most of my time to learning programming, mainly in shell scripting & Java, with the hopes of becoming a game & Android developer.

This is the triforce of game development that I'm working hard to achieve.

I'll be making some music on rare occasions on my old Gameboys.  Eventually, I'll be moving up to vocaloid music.  : )

UPDATE 2021:
I've been mostly offline for quite a few years now, fighting against the troubles of life that take all my time away, & am finally making some progress.  I'm hoping to escape this cursed time void soon.
