'Fast-rising duo Hicky & Kalo are back with their first original release since the massively successful Borealis EP last year.

Outage EP is another majestic outing with two tracks custom-built for the dancefloor.

The Canadian duo had the opportunity to road test each cut on the immaculate soundsystem at the world-renowned Stereo in Montreal, where they are hosting a monthly residency.

'Outage' open the EP with a rolling bassline, it fuses a massive low sound stab with a beautiful melody in its bells.

'Luminous Path' completes the package with a vibrant melodic line of its own, which expands throughout the piece.

It's another great release from the young pair that will solidify their foothold on the progressive house scene worldwide.'

As sister label to the Meanwhile behemoth, the Horizons offshoot continues to expose listeners to a dynamic and varied sonic portfolio. Heralding a new release that captures the essence of the Meanwhile Horizons sound, Weird Sounding Dude now delivers “Passing Thoughts”, a sparkling musical narrative that navigates a clear path through the serene blue waters of glistening melody and rolling rhythmic waves.

A best-selling artist who regularly finds himself in the upper echelons of the Organic and Progressive House charts, Weird Sounding Dude is a favourite on esteemed imprints including Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music, Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden and Armen Miran’s Hoomidaas.

Making his Meanwhile Horizons debut, “Passing Thoughts” encapsulates the Bangalore based artist’s penchant for chunky grooves and rich melodic layers. Evolving over a smooth 8-minutes, a syncopated melody sits snugly against the percussive top-line and 8th note bassline. Elegant chord progressions drift enticingly across proceedings, exposed fully at the beatless breakdown before the title track hits its stride once more in the latter stages.

“Doorway to Amatsu” continues the melodic and rhythmic foundation as an arpeggiated sequence sits perfectly atop ticking hit-hat percussion and powerful metronomic beat. Breaking up the mesmerising repeated motif, white-noise swells and beautifully constructed pads pulsate gently in sonic waves, particularly at the stripped back mid-point before the tracks picks up the pace once more in the second half.

The final track sees “Explorer To Mars” entice listeners with a smorgasbord of elegantly sculpted counterpoint melodies that captivate with a stunning and effortless vibrancy. A clicking percussive groove provides dynamism as it sits in exquisite harmony with shaker urgency and swung groove. White-noise risers add layers of atmosphere as another sonic marvel becomes a timeless classic.

Opening the month of July, Deepwibe Underground presents volume two of their XX remix series. Following on from the success of Dmitry Molosh’s new rendition of ‘Mahasim’ by Roman Kandel, the label invites fast rising Andres Moris to re-interpret ‘Invisible Flight’ by Kostya Outta. Originally released in May of last year and remixed by K Loveski, the track earned support from D-Nox, Dmitry Molosh, Eelke Kleijn, GMJ, Mariano Mellino, Nick Warren and Sasha. Andres Moris has been one of progressive music’s more prolific remixers over the last two calendar years. This steady stream of output has served the Cordoba resident well, earning continued praise from Hernan Cattaneo, while showcasing his key projects via Antrim’s Or Two Strangers and Tash’s Movement Recordings. Having made his Deepwibe Underground debut in April with a well received remix of ‘Diversion’ by Eichenbaum, Andres now returns to the label for a second remix, as he takes ‘Invisible Flight’ for a proper peak time journey. With support already in from Ezequiel Arias, Mariano Mellino, Marcelo Vasami, Nick Warren, Ruby, Shai T and more, this looks set for summer dance floor devastation. Don’t miss it.

The latest release on Madloch's 3rd Avenue imprint welcomes Alan Cerra back to the label with the remixes for his previously released "Beyond Time EP". Based in Argentina, Alan first appeared on the progressive music scene in 2019 with a contribution to 3rd Avenue's popular 'We Are The Future' series. 2020 then proved to be a breakout year, with Alan showcasing his music via Antrim's Strangers Beats, Miss Monique's Siona Records, Michael A's Genesis Music and D-Formation's Beatfreak Limited. More recently Alan released music on labels such as Amitabha, Dopamine White, JOOF Aura, Mango Alley and many more.

J.P. Velardi, Waxman (CA), Manu Pavez & Secretly Famous got invited to do a remix.

"Firmly ensconced at underground dance’s top table, GMJ has matured into a powerful force. Returning to the Meanwhile imprint he founded with spiritual brother, Matter, “Empty to Fill” is an outstanding new offering.
 
An artist who has risen to prominence in both the live and production arenas, Gavin Griffin finds himself at the centre of an ever-vibrant Melbourne music scene. Home to a host of iconic names and a sound that helped define the progressive house genre in the 2000s, his GMJ moniker has continued to shape the modern progressive sound. With over 400 production credits to his name, a century alongside long-term partner, Matter, GMJ has seen his music adorn the likes of Balance Music, Anjunadeep and Proton Music.
 
Opening his solo account on Meanwhile with October 2020’s “Mood Medicine”, collaborative EPs with Matter have seen “Lost on Origin”, “The Path / Perfect Storm” and “Eldarin” light up the label, alongside remixes for Simos Tagias, Roger Martinez and Matter himself.
 
Opening with the title track, “Empty to Fill” is a chunky, subterranean groove-fuelled monster. Bristling with menacing vibe, lighter moments come courtesy of floating synth motifs that glide to the fore in a stripped back breakdown of delicate keys and gloriously delayed sequences. A pulsating white-noise riser heralds a return of the club-friendly groove and gorgeous melodic flow in the latter stages.
 
Continuing with the trademark rolling groove that watermarks the GMJ sound, “Door of Light” sparkles with arpeggiated backdrop and reverse-reverb vocal breaths. Evolving immaculately, stratified sonic layers flourish as they entwine together in organic fashion. Counterpoint motifs coruscate above pulsing white-noise swells as the aptly named track waxes and wanes in perfect dancefloor cadence, before reaching a rousing crescendo in an immersive sonic tapestry.
 
The final piece sees the popping percussive vibrancy of “Stage Flight” sit atop a stereo-panned bass groove. Building over its 7-minute duration, syncopated synth riffs lock tightly into the driving framework that reaches its culmination with a chorus of breathy pads and a drop back into the rolling bassline and mirrored synth sequence. The resultant track is a powerful snapshot straight out of the GMJ production playbook.
 
Chock full of rhythmic force and multi-faceted layers of sound, “Empty to Fill” displays a sparkling 24-carat hallmark of the GMJ sound."
