Following the success of August 2021's debut compilation series, and a first volume featuring six original tracks from a stellar cast of international talent, GMJ and Matter now return with a thoroughbred 10-track sequel in "Meanwhile Excursions, Vol. 2".

Presenting a global dance party with artists from across the continents, from North and South America to Europe, Australasia and Asia, the second instalment of the "Meanwhile Excursions" series combines an array of established talent with up-and-coming nubreed artists who shine a bright light on the progressive house genre.

Opening with the deep bass groove of "Negev", Colombian star, Golan Zocher, and label head-honcho, GMJ, blend their talent with a delicate ambience that shimmers across its 8-minute time fame with textured pads and flowing soundscape. Mango Alley favourite, Forty Cats continues with the smooth sounds of "Mutualism" as hypnotic rhythms and bass groove propel things forwards, while Andrés Moris creates club-friendly force via "Owen's Dream". Full of emotive chords progressions and twinkling arpeggios, a pulsating bassline makes for a beautifully assured debut.

Redolent in intricate percussive groove and juxtaposed with sumptuous synth arrangement, Tonaco's "Setentrional" is a rhythmic tour de force that only pauses for breath at the beatless breakdown, while Dowden's first of two offerings is a typically impressive offering with "Halstatt" glittering via earworm motif that melds with freeform counterpoint sequence as it evolves through a flurry of white-noise fills and mesmerising presence.

A slow-burning jewel that combines strong rhythmic force with running bassline presence, "Retro" finds Ivan Aliaga showcasing an evolving melodic tapestry that waxes and wanes with ease, while "Misanthropy" is another rhythm-fuelled affair that demonstrates why NOIYSE PROJECT is a name currently on the lips of the progressive cognoscenti with his club-friendly groove and ear for melodic emotion. Moving forwards, the low-slung groove of EMPHI's "The Box" helps to generate a brooding wall of sound that builds in tension-filled phases that rise and fall in ever-evolving synth work and stereo-panned white-noise effects.

The second track from Dowden see him join forces with Meanwhile's other co-founder as the immaculate production credentials of Matter see beautiful piano phrases glitter across "York", fully exposed at the mid-point where reverb-drenched and delay-soaked chords vie for space with a dynamic rhythmic backdrop and ticking hi-hat percussion. Ending as it starts, smooth melodic patterns flow from the fingertips of Gorkiz and Distro in cascading layers of dreamy sonic passages that create a coruscating mosaic of sound atop the blistering rhythmic energy of "Staring at the Sun".

A 10-track trip through the sound of modern progressive house, "Meanwhile Excursions, Vol. 2" is a journey to remember.

Returning from a short hiatus, Ziger's Eat My Hat Music welcomes Sajith Prakash back to the label for a new EP. Based in Bangalore, the Indian artist made his debut on the Greek imprint in April of 2021 with the well received 'Bolivian Diary' EP. The two-track showcase proved to be a highlight in Sajith's discography with both selections shooting to the top of his Beatport Best Sellers chart. The year would bring further successes for the Bangalore resident, with an Eat My Hat follow-up landing in July along with projects for Droid9 and Soundteller Records. Now following an EP for Balkan Connection to begin 2022, Sajith returns to Eat My Hat with the much anticipated 'Light Years'. 

As Sajith continues to rise in the world of progressive music, it is the deep hypnotic sounds of 'Light Years' which set the course for his Eat My Hat return. Played out over seven meditative minutes, a storyboard of fuzzed out stabs and blustery effects gets intertwined with chunky bass tones and dusty percussive arrangements. Sitting at the heart of the journey, a spirited interlude brings further drama, as arpeggiated sequences emerge and percolate, before eventually melting down into an emotive, key changing finale.

The companion piece 'Atheist and The Priest' is bursting with ultrasonic qualities, as Sajith expertly marries low-slung stabs and timely effects with effervescent percussion and cross-cultural vocal pads. Mysterious and energetic in equal measure, the first act flows through emotive chord changes, perfectly setting the stage for a memorable break. Complete with percolating arps and gorgeous vocal phrasing, the interlude builds with a veteran's savvy, setting the stage for a thumping drop and goosebump worthy finale. A gorgeous production from Sajith who makes his third project for Ziger's Eat My Hat Music a most memorable one.

Following on from the February 2022 remixes, Meanwhile now returns to Alex O’Rion’s EP as “Echium Remixed, Pt. 2” continues with another trio of outstanding interpretations.

A legendary figure in the world of art, music and underground dance, Roger Martinez has been a central figure with his kaleidoscopic sound and spiritual influences. Music signed to Lost & Found, Replug and his own Higher States have confirmed this status while July 2020’s “Cosmic” was a further notable highlight on Meanwhile. Now returning to GMJ & Matter’s imprint, the Roger Martinez remix of “The Chase” is an uptempo offering that draws on his musical influences with a powerful beat and deep bass groove. Using pitched elements from Alex’s original, vocal cuts shift in stereo-panned glory and epic white-noise risers and infinite delays create a dense swirling atmosphere. Pausing at the breakdown to introduce additional melodic elements, the track then drops back into its hypnotic groove as new melodic motifs create the aptly titled “Interdimensional Remix”.

GMJ & Matter return to their flagship imprint with typical flair and aplomb. Able to point to a rich catalogue of original and remix work in both solo and collaborative guises throughout Meanwhile’s two-year reign at the top of the progressive house charts, the Melbourne based duo provide a powerful and dynamic rendition of the title track. GMJ & Matter have thus taken the effects fuelled “Echium” and transformed it into a dark seething progressive house monster that lurks beneath gently pulsing waves. Serene in its build, delayed synth phrases cascade over each other in endless delay while new melodies twinkle across the mid-range in trademark-soaked reverb and elegantly stratified sonic layers. Maintaining the aural themes sculpted by Alex O’Rion in the original, GMJ & Matter have successfully navigated a new and dynamic path through the beautiful “Echium”.

Imran Khan has cemented a reputation as one of the progressive house fraternity’s leading lights. Almost a double century of production credits has seen remix and original music land on the likes of Mango Alley, Proton Music and Clinique, since a 2016 debut for the latter. Moreover, 2021’s “Push Thru / Horizonz” and “Equinox” have delighted the Meanwhile faithful. Returning for a third remix, the Imran Khan reworking of “The Serpent” is a typically deep and atmospheric affair with huge thumping beat and cavernous bass groove dominating the low end. Capturing the flowing melodic phrasing of the original, pitched synths and pulsating white-noise risers create a thick soup of sound that evolves in bubbling sonic patterns with their origins in Alex O’Rion’s impressive production technique. The resulting marriage of two musical identities finds Imran Khan once again illustrating his impressive production credentials through trademark sound design.

Another musical triptych pays tribute to the sonic diversity found in Alex O’Rion’s music as Roger Martinez, GMJ & Matter and Imran Khan open up in full bloom through the towering “Echium”.

Qualista dedicates its second compilation VA to Olympos (the home of gods), the ancient capital city of Lycia which is located in the south west of Antalya. 

The ruins date back to hellenistic era approximately 300 BC. Cicero describes Olympos as a city full of wealth and art.
Olympos is not only a city and a mountain but also home to Chimera a mythical creature with the head of a lion, the body of a goat, and the tail of a snake. 


The coast around Olympos is one of the loveliest spots in all of Turkey and home to a wide range of flora and fauna.
Qualista aims to introduce its environment and cultural heritage to the world through music under the name of ‘Stairs to Olympos’ as a social responsibility.
