The Other Side

This track is a bit obscure. It reflects a sadness typical of when one leaves his home to move to another country. Punta Umbria is a town ins southern Spain, though never been there. Umbria means shadow or shade in Latin, the darkness is what the song is about, with some Flamenco guitars reflecting that.

A longer than planned song, starts really sad, the piano at the beginning almost makes me cry. The song really is about having everything more or less going great and suddenly losing it all. The chorus is a 'happy memory' of what you had, though the fact remains that you have lost it all. Girlfriend/wife/kids after a separation, that kind of loss that makes you feel so alone.

This is probably my preferred song out of the bunch. I would like to sing better so this is an instrumental version. I still get the emotion of the piano at the start and end, for some reason.

This song was end to end 90 minutes and in between work breaks. I was thinking how the Amazon guy, Bezos, keeps marrying and divorcing, losing half of his money in separation ruling. Insane.

This is a song about people who become all righteous after grabbing a 'cause' they know a little or nothing about and decide to hurt the lives of the rest of us with violence. Most of us actually care about the stuff happening in the world, but attacks and destruction really leads to more of the same. 

It is ironic that at the time in human history where we have the longest lifespan, the lowest infant mortality rate and the most information available to us, some have decided 'down with the system' based on TikTok and sh!t...

Something like that is what the song is about... make love not war.

This track is about the quirks of French films, blending old fashioned instruments mixed with modern sounds. The image is AI generated, maybe would be better in B&W.

The little bee at the end is the one that always does whatever the f*ck it wants--as long as it respects the beehive's rules to ensure prosperity. Prosperity is important.
