Collins Dictionary Example sentence: „Other ocular signs include involuntary rhythmic movement of the eyeball.“ Someone in the edi- torial department wasn‘t paying attention and involuntarily spoke a deeply buried truth: The movement from the eye to rhythm and from there to sound is sometimes a small, puny one.

Now Infuso Giallo provides the proof at the same time and imple- ments his live show for last year‘s debut album „Ocular Soda“ as
an audio-visual show, as intertwined senses. Visible sound, audible images. Such ideas only last when they are put to the test and scru- tinised by several experts.

The duo Globus, which consists of 2/5 of the post-hardcore band PTTRNS, examines the synth hook of the second part of the double- opener „Every Waking Hour Pt.2“ by playing it, varying it, letting it sway.

In contrast, Anatolian Weapons from Athens can‘t help but immerse the ambient, Soft Machine-production-like first minutes of „Every Waking Hour Pt.1“ in a sinister black light. Staggering into a basement
club filled with nocturnal shadow people and indulge in carousing. Cautiously at first, then more and more determinedly.

From Hamburg and Berlin, the „Mole Gaze“ gets a special treatment. The trio Love-Songs drags the number off to Hamburg harbour, packs it onto a steamer, deep into the bow and lets it operate the sonar there. Conrad Schnitzler would have been delighted.

Infuso Giallo, meanwhile, realises that there is nothing more boring than standing still, so he revamps „Hello World“ and gives it a rear spoiler that keeps this number in lane even at club speed.

Speaking of „keeping in lane“: Niklas Wandt, the magician, doesn‘t even try such tricks. He simply throws an acid bolt on the closer „Ocular Soda“ and waits to see what happens. Alongside breakbeats from nowhere, Albert Hoffmann himself appears on a bicycle.

„Ocular Soda Remixes“ is the first tape on the Kame House label, so there‘s only one thing to do: open your eyes and listen!

They'd forgotten the path they'd trodden - the winding streets had formed a maze they could not conquer. Retracing their steps brought them no closer to an exit; every sign looked the same, every shop painted in the same faded colours - nothing set one apart from the next. In 2020 Malka Tuti should have been celebrating five years in the game with plenty of dates and special plans in the diary. The pandemic hit and they were forced to regroup and postpone their plans until this year, now marking their seventh anniversary as a label. To commemorate the date they've rallied friends and family for a sprawling compilation, Sheva, which features never-heard-before remixes and fresh tracks carefully curated over the last two years. Encompassing the heady, psychedelic sonics we've come to associate with the Malka Tuti world, the 12-track release features music from the likes of Red Axes, Nicola Cruz, Plazmot & Xen, Decha, Khidja and Manfredas, to name but a few.

After Jose Manuel’s highly acclaimed album Janara on Optimo Music and the curation of the V.A. compilation Milagros Del Ritmo, he returns with his new EP Alchemy, the second vinyl release on Archaic Future Sounds.

It’s a queer psychedelic trip through electronic reinterpretations of tropical ritual chimes from South East and Southern Asia with a touch of Tribal and Acid House. Chugging beats seasoned with percussive flutes are enveloped by warm synthesizer sounds, heavy basslines and exotic melodies.

The antithesis is the trippy remix produced by Front De Cadeaux, who released on Antinote, a dub influenced future classic of deconstructed club music and as a wrong-speeder you can always choose your own tempo! Influenced by 90s Afro Cosmic Music, magic mushrooms and LSD it’s perfect for all passionate DJs, clubs and dancers!

Enter Planet Dust welcomes Frenchman in Berlin, Manuel Jesus aka @world_wild_web to the ranks with the first single from his upcoming LP, Transmutation. Having cut his teeth fronting proto-punk psyche groups in his teenage years, Jesus made several extended trips to India and relocated to Berlin where he set up a studio and joined the artist collective and DIY venue, Loophole. 

World Wild Web's organ and drum machine-led music nods to the global Cosmic continuum, and reminds me of Suicide, Rizan Sa'id, The Monks and more. 'Cursed Fruits' shows off Manuel's dark, nihilistic approach toward catchy organ pop.

Invisible Inc is over the moon to finally be announcing this long-awaited double album of new music by Secret Circuit.

Presented here are 21 new pieces (or 22 if you count the bandcamp-exclusive digital bonus) recorded between 2020 and 2022 which capture that spacey, otherworldly quality Secret Circuit is known for but they also very much veer into the warmer, earthier and generally more ambient textural territories of his E Ruscha V and Only Thingz work...an altogether softer sensibility. The fact that the second disc of the double album is primarily ambient further confuses the issue! But Secret Circuit this most definitely is!

From a plethora of demos (60+) Invisible Inc label boss GK Machine wanted to distill these down and explore a side of Ruscha's that he felt hadn't been heard before, focussing on Ruscha's more emotive yet at the same time experimental side. Is that a paradox? Well, let's say only very rarely do we hear modular synths doing something so human-sounding, and when these are juxtaposed alongside slide guitars, live bass and vocodered vocals, we have something very special indeed.

Then there's the artwork...all lovingly drawn by E Ruscha V himself and landing on our desk long after the record had gone into production and test pressings delivered and approved. The package is made complete with a double-sided colour insert with liner notes and another of Ruscha's mind-warping doodles. Oh and the liner notes are written in reverse so you'll need a mirror to read them. Of course they are!

To cut a long story short, everything about this release is archetypal classic Secret Circuit and couldn't be anyone else. A highpoint for the label in 2023, no doubt.

PREMIERE: Secret Circuit - Tunnel Vision [Invisible, Inc]

"An apartment building, floors, songs. In the stairwell, a meeting: sound artist, radio interference manipulator and musician-producer-arranger. The bass escapes from the cellar and vibrates along the corridors. A door opens, oscillations swirl, clash, and blur the tracks. A voice rises. Concrete architecture. Bodies armed for expression. In the distance, the echo of a rave party."

H.L.M (Haute Lévitation Mutée), the project of Guillaume Laidain & Andrew Claristidge, are next up on artist duo, agency and label Milk Me's release schedule. Titled 'Grenoble', the single is a homage in name to the Southwestern city where H.L.M. met and is coincidentally also the home of one of the release remixers, French electro luminary The Hacker. He's joined on remix duties by an equally strong French cast of Arnaud Rebotini and Pablo Bozzi, who together put their own spins on the moody, chugging EBM of the original, which is laced with hypnotic spoken word and haunting synth lines.

The Girl With A Hole In Her Heart is a Balearic record, though not one that’s inspired by those fabled Iberian sun-kissed beaches that stretch on forever and sunsets that stop you in your tracks. Rather, it’s a House record made for all night dancing in a decommissioned steelwork. It’s an ambient record that strolls a windswept coastline where lime-grass dunes rise and fall like slumbering megafauna. The album walks the ugly, lovely industrial coastline of the North East of England, stopping at points to soak up the breathtaking scenery and watch everyday life carrying on in the face of rapid deindustrialisation.
Of this, the title track from the forthcoming album, Sally writes…
“Some of my earliest memories formed the lyric for The Girl with a Hole in her a Heart... I remember some undefined adult talking about the girl next door having ‘a hole in her heart’, a wildly visual and evocative image for a child to comprehend. I remember seeing my mother’s Crimplene dress (a miracle fabric manufactured at nearby ICI) frozen, as though she were still inside it, on the washing line among the metal beer kegs in the back yard. At the end of the street there were huge (or so they seemed) industrial slag heaps where I used to play with the neighbour’s kids and my siblings. I remember the feeling of the shale-like slag slipping underneath my feet as we clambered up and down them… and we drew musical influence from tracks by Italo dance producers like Alexander Robotnik, or from the Yello, Sparks and early Human League tracks we love”
