"It took a while before it was this. It was a place to find clothes made by people lost in a minefield of ideas who liked to party. It was a place for temporary visions that turned out to happen and were then forgotten. It was always a place to find a new circle of friends. A place for expression where the throttle had been loosened and we all careered into the next day and the day after that. We all need to meet in the flesh away from the pixels and connect our first thoughts. Somewhere to ruffle our own feathers and take off on a phantom flight. It has been all this and it still is. Only now there is a record label to try and actually document a little of all of that. Welcome to Sameheads. 

This record is a morsel from the community. Novo Line, Twoonky, Kruton, Kris Baha and Antoni Maiovvi and Balance Crew aka Dane Close & L. Zylberberg. A2. Balance Crew - Flam!

The moon seemed bigger tonight than ever before. Brighter too. It's blinding light lit up her garden as if a 500 kilowatt bulb had been switched on overhead. From her bedroom window she gazed up at the sky, daydreaming of what her life would be like away from earth. She traced the constellations in the air with her finger, creating shapes and figures, reimagining her own patterns. What she would give to leave this planet and create a new world of her own amongst the stars. A place where she could be spaced.

Rising Polish producer Jaxe inaugurates Dom Trojga, a brand new Warsaw-based label launched by Polish DJ and producer Eltron, with a four-tracker entitled Seekings. Recorded during a transitional period in Jaxe's life last year, the EP takes in acid, trance and electro influences and combines sincerity and depth as a vehicle for escapism. 

With Dom Trojga, which translates as "House Of Three", Eltron is on a mission to tell a story of what goes on in the basements of Poland's dancing spaces, tracing how this relationship with the dance floor has evolved. This is a platform to represent the energy and diversity of the artists, DJs and dancers who embody the country's scene.

Optimo Music presents the debut album from New Zealander Vanessa Worm, ‘Vanessa 77’, released on 10 July (vinyl and digital). 

Following the acclaimed ‘I Did A Lava Dance’, ‘Rando M !’ and ‘222’ released as part of the ‘Z Time’ EP last year, and ‘In Heaven We Are’ in April, ‘ Vanessa Worm returns to Optimo Music with a full album to show the world what she is about and how talented she is. 
Vanessa Worm is exactly the kind of artist Optimo Music dreams of finding; her music fits in with no genre and no scene - it is its own genre and its own scene.
Musically free and anarchic, Vanessa conforms to nobody’s dogma. 
Before lockdown Vanessa played a series of Southern Hemisphere live shows that entranced all who saw them. 
Hopefully next year she can come and do the same in the Northern Hemisphere.

PREMIERE: Vanessa Worm - Cold Hard Blues (Optimo Music)

After he featured on Various #2, the Russian artist Yssue is back on KUMP with three, slightly incantational, Industrial/Tribalistic tracks.
In this EP, Dmitry Nekrotkov explores Nature and expresses his vision of the bonds which Mankind shares with It.
What's more? Two remixes. Ayaz, an artist from Azerbaïdjan and founder of the Yalançi label, delivered a Dub-Techno remix which will turn your brain upside down before chopping it in tiny bits.
The second remix was made by the Duo DJ PG, from Lauzanne (Switzerland). The two pals, both members of the group "La Sacrée Déter" revisited the track "Lust" adding a Psyche-dubik touch to it. Perfect for a matinee on your sofa.

"My music is often a reflection of the state in which I am at a certain period of my life, since I grew up from a musical punk scene, this often involves a certain set of means of expression. In essence, I am in an endless struggle to express some quite lively and human emotions through the cold and artificial world of electronic sounds. That is why there is a lot of melody and sometimes even drama in my music, and this is why I'm often got bored with a static music.
This EP is called "Naturalist", a terms that defines a person who has devoted his life to the study of nature and its kingdoms. This directly relates to my strong belief that the further society advances, the more people are losing touch with nature, something that is real and to which they all belong."

PRÉMIÈRE: Yssue - Lust (Dj PG Remix) [KUMP]

The fourth multi-artist EP from blog-turned-record label Innate takes the imprint’s inherently warm and far-sighted sound into new intergalactic directions, offering up a quartet of cuts from established producers and rising stars: all inspired by dreams of cross-cosmic travel and the alluring weightlessness of deep space.

While all of Innate’s previous releases have tended towards the futuristic and otherworldly, EP number four explores the label’s love of stargazing electronic music much more explicitly. It features tracks that tend towards the timeless, mixing shimmering, life-affirming melodies, starburst electronics and twinkling chords. 

The A-side is all about deep, melodious and spacey electro, with tracks coming courtesy of two artists who are at very different stages in their musical careers. Up first is Steven Brunsmann AKA Aroy Dee, an experienced and much-loved Dutch scene stalwart making a rare appearance away from his acclaimed M>O>S Recordings label. “Leegte”, his sole outing of 2020 so far, is impressively immersive with Brunsmann cloaking a jaunty bassline and lo-fi electro beats in sumptuous aural textures and glassy-eyed chord sequences. The second slab comes courtesy of Innate label regular Gilbert, whose dedication to the more melodious and ear-catching end of the machine soul spectrum has been such a feature of the imprint’s releases to date. “Furthest Planet” may well be his most inspired musical workout yet: a deep electro roller whose lilting lead lines, shimmering electronics, yearning chords and tumbling acid lines are little less than life-affirming.

Over on side B, the sound subtly shifts towards the vibrant, multi-coloured sci-fi shimmer of techno in its purest form. First to make his mark is label newcomer Jonski, an alternate alias for fast-rising Bristol electro producer Zobol (real name Jon Chimielewski). “Venusian Surface” is classic star-gazing techno, with vivid chords, echoing synth squiggles, bubbly TB-303 motifs and alluring lead lines rising above a classic tech-funk bassline and bustling machine drums. To round of a great EP in style, Innate turns to effervescent Welshman DJ Guy. Fresh from inspired outings on Unthank and Other World Music, the Cardiff-based producer slams down a sweaty, energetic and forthright techno stomper. “Aphelion Orbit” boasts some brilliantly breathless, jacking drum programming – all machine-gun snare fills and snappy handclaps – but it’s the celestial shimmer of the accompanying chords and melodies that lingers longest in the memory. It’s a perfect conclusion to Innate’s most melodious and action-packed release to date.
