On January 14, L.A.-based producer Matt “Wheez-ie” Mauldin follows up October 2021’s Horizons release on Evar Records with an of-the-moment remix EP that’s cathartic, riveting, uncompromising and altogether powerful. Wheez-ie gathers together an all-star cast of dancefloor iconoclasts who reinterpret his singular ’90s-referential rave visions to thrilling effect  – this is all killer, no filler warehouse music for those who are brave enough to take the ride.

London’s jungle modernist Tim Reaper reworks “Horizons” – a Summer of Love-ready breakbeat epic with cinematic, near gothic overtones – into an homage of sorts to early LTJ Bukem, cutting up Wheezie’s melancholy synths into a twinkling fairyland that dances atop a weighty ton of chopped amens and classic jungle subs.

Uncompromising and utterly of-the-moment, the Horizons Remix EP explores new shades of the themes that infuse Wheez-ie’s original: dystopian futurism, uncertainty, dark beauty and rave catharsis. Don’t sleep!

The 2021 EP 'Portal' by Naarm/Melbourne producer Prizefight makes its long-awaited return as a re-release on Spinning Around. Remastered by Benji Colbourne and remixed by the likes of B.C. In support of "pussy in power" for the Blak women of Australia, all proceeds from 'Credit' will be donated to Djirra - an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation providing legal support, social services and advocacy to Aboriginal women fighting against family violence.

Nørus, the solo project of music producer Felipe Bortoloti, is about to release his new EP, 'Surrounding Sequences'. With previous releases on renowned labels such as Nerang Recordings, Gestalt Records and Deviant Episode, Nørus is known for his creative versatility and ability to produce various genres of music.

His new release could be described as a blend of IDM, Braindance, Breakbeat and Techno. The EP features three original tracks and a remix, in which Vitor Munhoz, Nørus's partner at Somnum Studio, creates a version of 'Brainsuckers'. The entire Mixing and Mastering process took place at Somnum Studio, which has branches in Porto and São Paulo.

'Surrounding Sequences' will be available in vinyl format in a limited edition of 100 copies, making it a unique piece in the collection of any vinyl and electronic music enthusiast. However, for those who prefer digital streaming platforms, the EP will also be available on all of them next April 21st. Pre-orders are already available on Bandcamp, and it is essential for genre fans not to miss the opportunity to acquire a physical copy of this musical masterpiece.

As we enter our fourth year as a label, we welcome San Francisco based Chrissy to the Dansu Discs family for DSD017. He specialises in rave-influenced sounds, Chicago house, and disco, but his 20-year career has ranged from jungle to footwork to freestyle (he literally has it all!). His strong reputation as a ‘genre bending’ producer is one that is fully deserved and he proves just that in this record. On the B side we welcome back Soundbwoy Killah and Denham Audio, both providing a killer remix to top off one of our most exciting projects yet.
