The 9th release on Lisbon's dance agitators Rave Tuga is on the way: an EP, available on tape and digital by local mainstay DIOGO (https://soundcloud.com/diogo-vasconcelos-1), who's been loyally serving the dancefloors of Lisbon in the past few years via his sick DJing and productions. Recruits for the remixer role are other two legends of our scene: genius clubkid Ecstasya (https://soundcloud.com/ecstasya) and spot-on dance composer Moreno Ácido (https://soundcloud.com/morenoacido).

Acid and jacking flavours gladly meet again, with an added ray of local sunshine, on the opener 'Paz d'Alma'. The skillfully programmed 303 lines keep going throughout the album, on the A3 accompanied by a sick electro groove and emotional pads and some bleepy chill-packed vibes on the A4.

Nørus & Dj Whipr Snipr team up for the electro-tinged ‘Sporthsgoth’ this October on Nerang Recordings. Queensland based DJ/producer and label head Dj Whipr Snipr has been running Nerang Recordings since 2016, putting out music from the likes of Interplanetary Criminal, Subjoi, DJ Swagger, DJ Bowlcut, J. Albert, Cassettes For Kids, and many more since its inception. Teaming up with Brazilian DJ/producer and Gestalt Records alumni Nørus here, the duo air their first collaborative works on ‘Sportsgoth’, a hard-hitting EP taking inspiration from Breaks, Electro, Techno and beyond.
Our pick fell on leading the A-side, ‘Something Better’ which opens with deep, hypnotic pads and sharp drums alongside modulating low end.

UK-born, Berlin-based, J.Wiltshire (Hypercolour/Super Hexagon) returns to MUSAR for a deep excursion with Planet Mu's Konx Om Pax on remix duties.

The tracks came to fruition in Berlin during a time in society when everything was closed and there was a huge layer of uncertainty across the globe. "I was channelling my interest in the introspective side of trance and finding comfort in what I was creating. It was sort of like going back to using processes from when I first started making dance music."

With three original tracks on the EP, 'Luv 44' opens the EP with a pulsating boom-bap groove and atmospheric synth work via acidic licks from the SH-101. 'The Number Counters' boasts sporadic analogue delay with white-noise snare drums and haunting ostinatos. 'Trails' is a welcoming, sluggish roller that chugs into oblivion, making for an idyllic warm-up excerpt for the club.

On remix duties, special guest Konx Om Pax is summoned to bring his own interpretation of 'The Number Counters'. As an artist, you may recognise Konx Om Pax's visuals for Warp, Mogwai, Underground Resistance, OneohtrixPointNever, Hyperdub, Advanced Beauty and LuckyMe. Oftentimes when turning his hand to production, the Planet Mu signee develops the original elements and pushes them into new territory via a host of analogue effects chains. Among the mix is a hypnotic and continual breakbeat that dips in and out dynamically, plus a host of improvised effects that sporadically paint over the mix like a beautiful and chaotic tapestry.

For two decades we have been trying to bring a fresh wind to the otherwise musically forgotten border gate of the three countries of the Czech Republic, Poland and Germany. And so, for this occasion of our 20th anniversary, we decided to create the music compilation that will at least partially map the atmosphere of the last 20 years. We have always focused on non-mainstream music and diversity in the genres of Autonomic Drum and Bass & Techno, so even though it is a genre-different and varied compilation, all artists have one thing in common, and that is the SHOTGUN FESTIVAL. The result is a compilation of 2x LP 12" vinyl with 12 songs by 12 artists.

Dear friends, do you like gummy bears, squidgy strawbs, liquorice or rather marshmallows? Leipzig based producer Littlelake kicks off on Brombért with an EP, that has it all in its paper sleeve. “Mixed Bag” is a four tracker, which sounds like taking your sugar overdose from the candy store straight to your favourite warehouse party. With “Long Time Ago” and its gravitational drive, the funky lucidity of “Another Lovesong”, the splendid walking bass of “Padang Padang” or swinging sawtooth anthem “Yam Bean”, “Mixed Bag” is a typical Brombért-Release: rich in detail, engineered rigorously, nevertheless it always has a couple of screws loose. As Littlelake puts it himself: “Brombért looks a bit odd, but he’s actually very nice.” Physical release comes with handcrafted, screen printed artwork by fabulous graphic artist Zatina Kessl.

Dylan Dylan gets things started with a slice of deep, UKG style beats, Marc Brauner & Jimbo Mack collaborate and make a continuation of the UKg vibe with a German flavour, followed by Foreach with a serious dose of uplifting breakbeat business. Togethrs produces some sublime drum & bass sounds, and Minor Sine Project brings us vibey, acid breaks. Jordan Raymond supplies some atmospheric, laid back rhythms, followed by Nørus & DJ WHIPR SNIPR who drop a powerful chunk of bassline orientated material. Withheld brings the heat with an extended, melodic breakbeat excursion and lastly, Florian winds things down with a deep and blissful track that serves up luscious pads and ingenious rhythms.
