Sunset Your Mindset

𝓛'𝓲𝓷𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓾𝓻 𝓼𝓪𝓾𝓿𝓪𝓰𝓮 in April is about being alone, "mutterseelenallein", about loneliness and empty places, about drifting around in the wild and shimmering realms of solitude. Words and poems of this episode are by Paul Celan, Maggie Nelson, The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, Denys Renaudin's Investigation of a Haunting case in Paris in 1979, my friend's friend Jess and by myself. 

The Artwork is part of Goya's Los Caprichos. Los Caprichos is a set of 80 prints in aquatint and etching created by the Spanish artist in 1797–1798, and published as an album in 1799. The prints were an artistic experiment: a medium for Goya's condemnation of the universal follies and foolishness in the  society in which he lived.

Days of Being Wild have been a force to be reckoned with both as a production unit and  as a label, headed by Sam Berdah and Franz Kirmann, their latest signing is Super Drama, a London based duo with a penchant for the 80s. With a list of edits of the likes of Yazoo, Soft Cell as well as the harder edge of Detroit legends Underground Resistance. Also creative DJs, the boys have graced the decks at a personal favourite night of ours, Snap Crackle & Pop at the Waiting Room in Stoke Newington .

The Affected Ellegance EP keeps the spirit of that 80s analogue sound, the particular track that we at the 44100 are premierring Hausu, announces itself with church bells along with 707 style kicks. The track owes itself as much to Chicago and Italo as it does to New Order, which it would be impossible  not to mention. The vocals would not sound out of place on a Daniel Wang or Muira era Metro Area Record and gives it a quirky edge which sets it apart from a lot of the faceless house and techno doing the rounds today.
It's not always easy to do the conclusion bit in these write ups,  this is a  brilliant EP from Days of Being Wild who have always championed new talent,  we personally  will be keeping a very close eye on Super Drama who have turned in a quality EP for DOBW.
