The Lumens are Luca Doobie and Mech, both Milan born and
raised, who reflect in their music the city's renewed mood: arty,
frantic and futuristic. Driven by solid grooves and spiky sound
design, their blend of electronic house and minimalist techno
allowed them in a short time to reach an uncompromised vibe. The
duo started as promoters and djs of the Electronic Barbecue open
air party in the summer of 2017, then took on the Phoenix Room
night at Plastic and Dude Club, followed by a partnership with
Pennyroyal Aftertea and most recently Phase Collective: four
brands who quickly became synonymous of quality music and
empathic atmosphere in Milan's nightlife. They simultaneously
researched and developed new sounds to play alongside their slate
of respected international guests such as Lamache, Giammarco
Orsini, Anthea, Robin Ordell, Oshana, Diego Krause, Ada Kaleh,
Vinyl Speed Adust, iO(Mulen), Rossko, Monika Ross, Julien Sandre
and Mennie, Jonny N Travis, Bosconi Showcase, Ray Okpara,
Christian Burkhardt, and more. The Lumens recently lit up the floor
in Barcelona and Berlin with a four hours set at Hoppetosse. The
next step has been the debut of their own vinyl label Positive Not
Happy who released three vinyls between May 2020 and April
2021, including a specific bandcamp exclusive output. Currently
they are busy in their new studio polishing a new bounce of tracks,
their typical attitude and enthusiasm coupled with an intense
workflow will manifest in a solid pack of eclectic cuts.

Panorama EP could be considered Erta Ale’s personal homage to the early 90's progressive house . Repetitive patterns, infectious bass lines and emotional chord progressions cooked together with precise rhythmical structures as well as featuring short vocal loops and acid lines typical for that time. The intention from Erta is to bring the crowd back in time and far from intellectualism and negative trips, in a place and time where dancing, dreaming and positive feelings were always present on the dance floor. Side B features an impeccable remix by the growing talented Italian duo we.amps, who as usual deliver powerful and tasteful dance floor tracks.

Hissarlik returns to Death Decay Magic for his first solo EP on the label with ‘Fragments’, accompanied by remixes from Black Light Smoke, Man 2.0 and Tronik Youth.

Born in Lille, Georges Lofferdo, aka Hissarlik, has released killer material across the darker realms of electronic music for over a decade. Fusing shady electro and hypnotic techno, his productions can be found across labels such as Elektrodos Recordings and Urban Connections. Returning to Death Decay Magic following his appearance on ‘Dead Beats 1’ last year, April brings the release of ‘Fragments’ - a project inspired by the chaos and challenges of the past year - with remixes from label founder Black Light Smoke, London’s Man 2.0 and Nein boss Tronik Youth.

Opening via the twisting sonics of ‘Alkane’ before journeying into the tense, electro-tinged ‘Daily Life’, the EP showcases the Frenchman’s penchant for the dark and eerie shades of electronic music. ‘Intruder’ ups the energy, fusing harsh metallic tones with sweeping, haunting atmospherics as the elements of the production ebb and flow amongst the mix. Next, Black Light Smoke’s edit of ‘Dancing On Your Grave’ brings the acid as shimmering hats guide 303-fuelled basslines, while Man 2.0’s take on ‘Alkane’ stiffens the track and surges into the peak time via soaring leads and zipping lasers. To close, Tronik Youth’s remix of ‘Daily Life’ delivers a menacing crescendo as zipping electronics and trippy vocals serve up a chuggy final effort.

Coral City Records return early in 2022 with an excellent release. N&W are on duty again here with three stand-out records. ‘Rave’ the A-Side is exactly what it says on the tin. It’s 808 State meets Larry Heard with a touch of Inner City. Stripped down and four to floor. Classic Roland 909 drums are met with a hook that shakes any dancefloor.

‘Speed’ is a killer Nu-Disco / Boogie affair with a nod to the seedy underworld of the 80s, Picture Michelle Pfeiffer throwing shapes on the dancefloor in Scarface,  and you are right on the nose.

‘Cherry’ is an all-out Italo / Hi-NRG workout, the linndrums, the driving arpeggio bassline, and overall melancholy feel, are reminiscent of Bobby Orlando.

Positiver is a fresh new producer based in VIlnius, Lithuania. His love for music started in DJ duo ''Absurd'', but few years, when pandemic hit the world and rushing life had to stop, it was a time to get back to your trueself. Inspired by musicians like Sweely, Adam Pits or Liquid Earth, experimentation with sound design began. Cozy bedroom grew into studio with synthesizers and jamming abilities. "Groovy drums, jumpy basslines, uplifting pads and acid motives is what drives me the most while jamming in the studio'' - he says.

JG Outsider is not a newcomer in Electronic music. This veteran producer from Murcia has a long career that began in the 90s with the management of the Pink Records label, and continued as half of the duo "2rare People", which achieved great success in the 2000s, being strongly supported by artists such as Oxia or Carl Cox. Today he uses this new alias to produce music halfway between the most acid Indie Dance, Industrial, sometimes entering the melodic field.

About the Track:

Hot on the heels of his recent ‘Control Freak’ release the label, bossman Dave Seaman is back flexing his muscles on Selador once more, armed with another bountiful package that signals intent for 2018.

This time Dave shows off a more subtle side as he constructs ‘Virgo Ryzin’ around an incessant lead line that bristles with brooding understated energy. It’s beguiling and vibrant, considered and assured, the mark of a man who’s just celebrated his 30th anniversary in the dance music industry. 

Remix-wise, the Audiojack juggernaut rolls into town fresh from their recent chart topping adventures. The Ibiza based UK duo’s star has been in the ascendency for some time and it’s not hard to see why. Another outright winner. 

Next we are delighted to welcome Joeski back to the label after his last remix for Dave formed part of the ‘Justified Replacement Of Lulu’ release back in 2014. This time he employs an Afro flavour for a heritage inspired mix that takes us back to our roots. It began in Africa!

Sasha Braemer has been on the Selador hit list for what seems like an eternity, so we’re very happy to say we finally got our man. The ever reliable German adds his considerable pedigree to proceedings with a stylish interpretation that has it’s fair share of surprises. 

And completing the line up, it’s another Selador outing for Techno young guns, Loco & Jam. Following their recent success on Suara & Tronic, the Northern Irish duo deliver another slammer for all your all big room, bass heavy requirements. 

All bases covered. Another home run.
